Only 2 current accounts but lots of savings accounts filled to the safety level.
If you've only got 2 current accounts and the rest in savings you're presumably missing out on all the 5%,4%,3% interest rates that you could have got instead which is a shame on a money saving site.

I have 9 current accounts. Pretty poor form compared to some here but I keep very little as cash savings, most of my money is in S&S ISAs.

At that kind of figure in what way are they not useless? FD, HSBC & M&S have regular savers but can you have e.g. 5 M&S accounts each with its own regular saver?

Edit: Although I'm not sure how many Tesco accounts can be opened with the 3%

Not sure I understand your question(s). Would you rather leave your money somewhere where it doesn't earn interest, or not at the best available rates? It is of course down to everybody's free choice. I prefer to make a few hundred pound extra interest each year from drip-feeding some £25K into regular savers, rather than not using them. I don't mind that I have to have a non-interest-paying current account in order to get access to some of the regular savers.

There are various attempts by people to summarise how many of which account you can have. I am sure you have seen some of them on here. The best place to find out are the T&Cs of the respective banks.

With all the Ac,s we have between us, 46,M&S turned wife down a few weeks ago, no reason!
    She didn't question it.
It,s their right, she only wanted it for access to the saver account and to switch another, unused a/c for the bonus.
Some you win, some you lose.
We have HSBC, for saver a/cs, no interest.

I would have to revise mine downwards in that case.
The OP asked," How do you save money"
I'm counting NS&i, Tesco savings Acs ,Isas, Shawbrooks, Close bros, etc.
    :)
  • Currently have 3 accounts, one for saving and the rest for other purposes. I try to maintain as less accounts as possible for the reason that I always mix up the passwords (gonna pound my head against a brick wall).

at a quick count, 14 current accounts and 20 in total. But I'm almost sure I'm missing some from that list.

About 5 get proper regular use - Halifax sole and joint, 3 x TSB are used for interest and cash back.
