I haven't done anything tbh. I should have and regret that i haven't, but my mental health and conditioning was just horrible for years. I feel s*** and just need a job because my mindset has become very pessimistic and feel like i will never find work, but it's making that first step it's so bloody hard for me it's frustrating! I am really hoping for a reply from an employer soon but it's seems so bleak. Once i have a job i can put my all in and show my dedication, but i dunno when it will happen. There is many things i want to do but i just don't have the money for those things.

how long have you been on the dole?
    have you any debt?

When i went to be a Rep selling double glazing i don't think i had sort of interview. We were only getting paid commission so i suppose they'd let anyone soft enough to work for nothing have a go.

I dunno where to go to find these jobs. I apply for jobs via the generic job sites.

Sure it isn't, but i don't want to live on benefits. It's hard to chill when the only way of getting money is either claiming benefits or stealing (jke) because paid work is few and far between, and even tougher when you're long term unemployed. I don't mean to be negative, but just the way i am feeling right now.

imagine you was going to give someone a job?
    who would it be?
    a man who works voluntary
or a man who has been on the dole for ages ?
    tell me?

  • Canvassing and windows telesales required no interview. I remember the day a street canvasser took me along to see the governor who offered a day sitting with his girls.

Had a couple of temp jobs also not require an interview.

You need an open day/evening, possibly a job fair perhaps?

My current role they were more bothered with someone seeing the computer system then asking questions, they probably wish they had done a common sense test but never mind thankfully 'my airs and graces' with customer in the least likely place seems to have saved me thus far, this common sense seems to be the in thing right now which could be linked to a state of mind so I think maybe it's just as debilitating. Just say you are able to start straight away.

As it's tough out there, could you also do some training on something as something to be able to talk up instead of work? Even if it were CV classes or anything else by JCP or attending there more regularly it'll also give you something to show routine?

You really need to stop making excuses for everything.

torbrex has given you information about a job. Why not get on and apply?

I can't even describe why i feel like i do. I want and need a job/money, but i am constantly doubting myself and hesitantly rejecting myself. it's been like this for so long and it isn't even like i am lazy, i just have no direction for so long and it's caused my negative mindset. I also care way too much what people think so i'm always trying to make others happy or not pursuing certain things in fear of what people think of me, even sending employers CV's has been tough because i think "what will they think of how long i've been out of work" but at least sending off CV's is anonymous until the interview stage.

I hope that makes sense, but just to give you an idea of my mind and how it's worked, i'm certaintly not lazy and really want to change. I am starting to care less now because i am miserable without work/money etc and need to make myself happy and be successful for me, and only me because no one else will care about my success/failure so why should i care so much what strangers think. I will definitely check out the site provided by torbrex and see what's available in my area to apply for. right now i need pretty much anything to get some money, gain some self esteem/pride and confidence and go move forward from there.

Well ideally i would like to understand their circumstances first and foremost, but i understand the point you're trying to make. I also understand how the working world works these days and you don't get jobs on sympathy. I know i haven't volunteered, but it certainly doesn't mean i would be a poor worker, far from it, but i can't prove that unless i get voluntary work it seems. I would work for free for a week or so if it meant a paid job at the end of it.

I would actually work longer than a week for free if it meant paid work at the end to prove my worth.

try volunty work and the easy work style, remember that you could leave anytime you like .. it would give you more confidence but don't think your life's crap because your not working.. someone Italian said I cant understand people on the dole here with there mobile phone etc. in italy if a man is made redundant he goes to the park and shoots himself ....i said
here ...its not the mans fault there are not few jobs ... like closer of the pits shipyards docks.. clothes factory's ..the governments have done nought to create the jobs (even labour)...so dont worry about it.
