Tax/Duty free shopping

Recently, I was travelling to Europe from my local UK airport, and visited the Duty/Tax free shop ( http://uk.worlddutyfree.com/ ).
I purchased a bottle of Barcardi which was priced at £18.99 (also advertised the average highstreet price of £23.??)
However, at the checkout, I was charged £26.?? for this item.
Knowing that there was a price promise, I thought on my return home, I would check out my local supermarket, and submit for the price difference to be provided.
My Local supermarket, had the same item on offer for £13.??
I submitted this price giving World Duty free the details of the store, etc that they required.
I received a response:-
"Thank you for your email. Unfortunately your claim was unsuccessful as the Bacardi Oakheart is currently on a special offer at Tesco."
I revisted my Local Tesco's again, and found that the item was no longer on sale for the Special price of £13.?? and has increased to £15.00.
I emailed back, stating that the price was now £15.00, and still cheaper than what was paid at the airport.
This was also unsuccessful as they still state that this was an 'offer price'.
How can I progress with my claim ?
Why is the Airport charging a high price, than any of the prices on the price ticket ?
(If I visited the website, and enter my destination, etc, I could reserve the item and pay/collect it at the airport for £18.99)

a couple more points.
you state that tesco had the same bottle for £13 and its now £15 and no longer on offer.
well looking at tescos website the 1ltr bottle is £15 which IS an offer price
http://www.tesco.com/groceries/product/details/?id=271206624
the 70cl is £13, and also on offer
http://www.tesco.com/groceries/product/details/?id=271201514
so in both instances you would not be able to claim the differenceLive each day like its your last because one day you'll be right0 -
Shows how useless most "price promises" are.
Re the difference in the labelled price, was this anything to do with you travelling within the EU, perhaps the price was different for those travelling outside the EU, I think they still have to charge duty/VAT if you're not leaving the EU.0 -

£18.99 + vat is £22.78 not £26 im not at work, and oddly dont have a tarriff with me at home, but im pretty sure the duty wont make up the difference.
you can buy booze at duty free shops and the price will be no different regardless of where the pax is flying to, hence being able to reserve items and the price is no different regardless where your final destination is
there are certain items, such as cigs which will have two prices, assuming they will sell to intra eu travellers, but these would be quite obvious.Live each day like its your last because one day you'll be right0 -
who on earth would buy something in an airport shop if flying within the EU?The questions that get the best answers are the questions that give most detail....0

I wonder if you have seen the various documentaries on tv principally concerning U.K. duty free stores but could also apply to stores in other countries: Apparently it's duty free in name only and chain stores charge full retail prices in some cases prices which are higher than the high street equivalents.0

OP:
Could you have made a mistake with the pricing?
FAQ on the webiste you provided a link to mentions the differnece in pricing.
Why didn't you query the price at the time of purchase?0 -

My local Tesco had the =1 litre bottle priced at £13.49 on special offer. Later it reverted back to £15.00
Both prices declined by the Price promise of World duty free.
Bottle at Airport cost a little over £26 - advertised at £18.99
Agree - can't claim difference on the £13.49 offer price, but the £15.00 price - I can't see why ? This was the price that Tesco has been selling the item (from date of flight to current date, with the exception of the £13.49 offer
Screen shot taken on 14th Nov showing £15 price - https://onedrive.live.com/redir?resid=46F54C489264DA98!22138&authkey=!AELSxXT3zjRc4kE&v=3&ithint=photo%2cpng )0 -
IIRC, the UK duty-free shops I've been into have separate prices - a lower one if you are travelling outside the EU and a higher one for travel within EU.

Price was £18.99 with a secondary price od £23.?? based on the average high street prices.
At time of purchase, I mentioned that the pricing was misleading, and was 100% positive that I could had reserved the item online for the same advertised price.
I was informed of the price-match guarantee, so thought that if this was the case, I would just submit a claim for the difference.
I checked on-line, and indeed, the website allows you reserve the item at the same advertised price - so again airport price misleading.0 -

But that £15 is still an offer price as evidenced by the 2nd link i provided.
I still dont understand how you saw it priced at £18.99 yet paid £26.00 for the bottleLive each day like its your last because one day you'll be right0
