Roundabout argument
If you were using the roundabout below, approaching from the a607 and taking the second exit, which lane would you use? If anyone wants a clearer view google asda grantham on maps. It isn't clear on the pic, but the left hand lane has an arrow pointing left, before it forks into two the right hand lane has an arrow pointing straight on and right.

It depends if the driver is already familiar with that section of road, however I would be using my indicators to signal my intent. And try my best to avoid any collision irrespective of blame.0

Well I would say right is the exit at 3 o'clock so straight on must be the exit before it (errr 12 o'clock). that's where the right hand lane arrows suggest
Left I would say is the first or second exit depending on where you indicate.
That's what I would do anyway but it's easy to see how others would see it differently.0 -
Based on the aerial view, the left lane has road markings with arrows showing left+straight, therefore I would use the left lane, not indicating on approaching the immediate first left, and then indicating left on passing that turn ready to take the 2nd exit.
Incidentally, 3 exits in the picture are labelled A52.0 -

Which is rather odd! The first exit from POV of a607 (which is actually an approach from the A1) is a supermarket, second you would actually use to access a607 and third would access a52.
The signage before the roundabout doesn't have any lane indicators. Personally I took your route.0 -
I view the exit/roadat 3pm as very minor and interpret the road markings to refer to the three main exits. Therefore I'd go for the right lane on approach, central lane at point of entry onto roundabout.
But that ^^ is with the benefit of the aerial view, which I wouldn't have when driving. In reality it looks like a left turn (albeit not a sharp left) and I'd probably aim for the left lane out of habit - left turns are most commonly from the left lane.:heartpuls Mrs Marleyboy :heartpuls

Oops, correction - the road markings leading up to the roundabout show the left lane as left turn, therefore the middle lane approaching is the one to use to take the 2nd exit.

However the middle lane is marked with an arrow showing straight on and right before it forks into two lanes which in reality are the width on one lane when you actually use the roundabout, which is a bit silly.
Unless you have used it before, there is no signage etc showing that there are in a way three lanes0 -

Incidentally, you are wrong. It's a quirk of Google earth. The 9 o'clock exit goes in to the supermarket therefore it does not have a identification. What it is trying to indicate is that the A52 is 13 o'clock and 3 o'clock but also so is the roundabout it's self. It's just an unfortunate placing of the tag. You will however notice the rest of the tags are before the roundabout on their respective roads, and the one you think is for ASDA is actually on the roundabout itself indicating that the roundabout itself is the A52.0 -
I've been on that road a number of times. Approaching on the A607 you can use the left hand lane to either enter the supermarket or go on to the next exit on Saint Augustines Way (A52). There are SLOW signs to warn drivers that cars are entering and exiting the supermarket, so caution is the name of the game. However, I don't see anything wrong in using the outside lane, particularly if there's a queue into Asda, as there quite often is.0

For me the arrows on the road indicate one thing and the whole layout from the road on to the roadabout indicate something else. I suspect left lane goes on to the 'second' exit and the supermarket (as somebody said it was) built the link road afterwards0

Sign appears to show left turn, pics not clear. So you should use the middle lane.
But the locals usually know better than the muppets that who design the road layout.
A busy dual carriageway by me had the road markings to the roundabout changed, Left lane left turn only and the right hand lane for straight on and right turn.
All very well except only approx 3% of the traffic actually turn left, 80% go straight on and the rest turn right.
So massive queues in the right hand lane and an empty left hand lane. Everyone ignored the road markings after 2 days.
They repainted the markings 3 times before finally reverting back to exactly how it was before they started messing.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0
