Unplug your Freview box while you have your TV tuned to digital and it should rescan and locate the changed channels, else use the hammer!

I used to have problems (Crystal Palace) losing channels from time to time but on the advice of someone on this site changed the fly leads (the ones that connect set, box and aerial to each other) for new ones and signal strength went up to 10/10. No problems since.0

warm days = lost channels
We get the same problem but we usually only lose either ITV or BBC. We never lose them both together. It's such a pain.
We too have a Phillips box and have renewed leads, reinstalled etc. but nothing helps when the channels are down!~Laugh and the world laughs with you, weep and you weep alone.~:)

The channels have moved around so you need to rescan to get them all again.
I wonder if that has anything to do with Film 4 apparently moving from 29 to 32 where Film 4 +1 used to be? Now can't find Film 4 +1!!
E4 (yuk) now seems to be occupying Ch 29??
Sutton Coldfield transmitter, no losses from there last night AFAIK0 -

Which make of Freeview Receiver does that? I have yet to come across one.
Every one that I have come across requires scanning from the menu.
Daewoo/Setpal variants check when powered up for any new or changed channels and then give you the option to scan.
I agree that most can be scanned from a menu but wasn't sure the the OP would understand this proceedure. Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0 -

Well my Daewoo certainly doesn't do that, the only option is via the menu, like every other Freeview Receiver that I have ever come across, including TV's with built in Freeview.0 -

Our DS608P is permanently powered up, so yesterday I actually switched it on/off and it came up with the "New or changed channels have been found do you want to scan" which I did and it sorted out the Ch4 changes. Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0 -

Pressing Menu on the remote had no more effect than any other button - it really was absolutely dead (yes I had put in new batteries) - and I can't physically reach the box itself. So I made a cup of tea, with, it turned out, off milk. I switched everything off in a temper and went out for milk.
I have just switched on again, and digital TV has been magically restored. All I need now is to swap my hammer for a magic wand, so Studio60 appears on my DVD rather than black nothingness.
Thanks everyone - maybe if I switch this off I'll get the thanks button back.0
