they say I'm failing to display a valid permit, when in fact they are failing to look

Simple appeal to say that they permit was there. Include a pic of where they can find it for the next time. Stress that you are aware they are failing to look.

See if you can get the Building manager to sign a document confirming you are a legitimate permit holder. All the document needs to say is

"This is to confirm, Mr X is a permit holder. The VRM is AB 123 XYZ. Please add this VRM to your whitelist"

It will look better and sort any issues if you take an adult approach to a simple problem.

TD should read the VCS v HMRC Court of appeal case. Summarised here

  • Thanks, I am trying to resolve this without paying them, I'm emailed the building manager with the ticket numbers hopefully that will stop them.

I've also laminated a big arrow and stuck in on the wall pointing to my permit to hopefully stop them putting more on.

They've sent me photos of my bike in the space, but from the black and white images I cant point out the permit as it is just black in the area it would be.

They won't be interested in the arrow. Rather unbelievably (but true) they are there to extort as much money as possible from legitimate motorists.

They make next to b*gg*r all from interlopers, and that's not good for business.

You need to nip this in the bud pretty sharpish.

For now, take timestamped photos every morning when you park there, showing the permit in place. Appeal EVERY ticket.

Keep on at the Building Manager (if it is him/her that hired these clowns, if not then find out who did) and get this stopped. Get your registration on a whitelist.

I am pretty sure that they are IPC, therefore vat does apply.

I'd be interested in your reasoning.

    Hi,

The first one they issued, they cancelled for a £10 cancellation fee, which I paid against my will, my other half just wanted it to be done with. Little did we know they'd keep coming back for more.

but is there anything I can do to get them to crawl back under the rock?

If you feed a rat, it will keep coming back for more :(

I'd be interested in your reasoning.

The IPC model is that it's a contractual charge and not damages. Contractual charges attract VAT.

OP - you've got a permit on display, so I'd take a photo of the permit every day they issue you a ticket and demand proof that there isn't one. You can even send them a photo of where the permit is.
Not that it'll help - the warden is on a target/commission so it's in his interest to not see it.

I'd also be complaining to the building manager every time it happens.
  • I've been emailing them a fresh, timestamped photo every day this week and finally got a response from them to stop emailing them. The building manager is telling them exactly where to look for the permit. So maybe it will all go away.
