Help to Buy ISA guide

Their HTB ISA is only available to residents of Cumbria, which rules out over 99% of the UK population, so experience is likely to be somewhat limited! As for the H2B, I've been looking into Penrith Building Society. They offer a rate of 3% which looks better than anywhere else. Has anyone had experience with them?0 -
My apologies if this has been asked before, but please can someone advise on the following?
I have a LISA which I have maxed out for this tax year. As we are both first time buyers, can my husband (over 40) open a H2B ISA and then we use both to buy a home? Would we get the government bonus on both ISAs? I've read through the guides and can't see it anywhere that you can use one of each account at the same time maybe I'm over-thinking it....
Thank you in advance 0 -
Ah good spot! Thanks for that!0

Yes, it's a fairly frequently-asked question, but, as per posts #1887/1888 above, the answer is yes, a couple can use one of each product between them, both benefiting from the bonuses, provided the purchase is compliant with the rules of both schemes.ShockinDKJ wrote: »My apologies if this has been asked before, but please can someone advise on the following?

Hi all
If my partner and I want to both start saving for a HTB ISA, does it matter if it is with separate banks?
Obvs various rates of interest etc but at the end when going for the same house it won't be a problem I hope?0 -
There's no need to use the same bank in these circumstances - I assume you actually mean 'saving in a HTB ISA' rather than 'saving for a HTB ISA', as the HTB is the vehicle rather than the destination! If my partner and I want to both start saving for a HTB ISA, does it matter if it is with separate banks?

Haha yeah that's what I meant!
Thanks great, appreciate it!0 -
I am 24 and currently living in Spain and unsure if I will be buying a property in the future in the UK or in Spain. Am I able to open a help to buy ISA if I am living in Spain? The rest of my family still live in the UK. Also in the case that I decide to buy a house in Spain, could I get all of the money out of this ISA without any problem?0

Good morning All,
My partner and I are now saving to buy a house.
I have a house and a rental property that I own and am therefore not eligible to the scheme.
However my partner has never owned a property and has always rented.
I understand that she is eligible to the scheme.
But how does this work as to us putting the deposit on a property.
Is it as straightforward as she will get a 25% bonus on her ISA savings and I too can put my portion of deposit down?
Thanks in advance.0
