PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING: Hello Forumites! In order to help keep the Forum a useful, safe and friendly place for our users, discussions around non-MoneySaving matters are not permitted per the Forum rules. While we understand that mentioning house prices may sometimes be relevant to a user's specific MoneySaving situation, we ask that you please avoid veering into broad, general debates about the market, the economy and politics, as these can unfortunately lead to abusive or hateful behaviour. Threads that are found to have derailed into wider discussions may be removed. Users who repeatedly disregard this may have their Forum account banned. Classic moneyNever, under any circumstances, take a sleeping pill and a laxative on the same night.0 -
If the railings require Listed Buildings Consent for painting, then I would also ask:
Did the neighbours' expensive gate attached to the end of wall pillar also require LBC and, if so, does it have it, and why is said gate attached to the wall anyway?0 -

It did need LBC and does have it (granted before we moved in) but I can't see online what if any conditions are attached to it.
I have found today the LBC given back in 2000 for our railings and it was granted on the basis they are black.0
