Hello. Today is cleaning day, so have got the washing on, and am just going to clean the kitchen. Fruit cake and muffins in the oven, and lots of leftovers need to be eaten up today - so a mixed up, buffet style lunch and tea of sausage rolls, bacon and brie pesto tart, chicken and salad.0

Morning,((((((((((((((((((((( hugs)))))))))))))))))))))) if you need one.
Fine morning have the towels in will put them out for a bitt of a blow and them on the airer in the sitting room when we go to bed.
Had a big stushie with OH this morning......not very happy, but I have to put up and shut up, no way of doing anything else.
We went to the Drs, she has asked to see OH this mornig, when we got there we were told her list was full!! No appointments we had to sit asnd wait and no guarantee she would see him.........so we have to get up at 7.30 on Thursday and be at the surgery for 8.30 when they open to make sure we get to see her.
I have been sneezing my head off, hope its not a cold, usually I get a sore throat if I am coming down with a cold, no sore throat as yet.
OH is in the garden out of my way, it was almost hands round the throat again.0 -
It's another dreadful day here weather wise - the river is almost bursting it's banks and I've never seen the fields under so much water.
The funeral was packed, kirk had standing room only and the marquee outside had 150 people in it with the service being relayed. Such a sad occasion with so many young men sitting crying. We didn't go to the internment or the 'ham tea' (such a Scottish phrase!) but back home snug and warm. I lit the woodburner before leaving and it lasted well, just slung another couple of logs on it to boost it up.
Sorry about your OH woes csarina - sometimes there's no pleasing!
Keep warm everyone.
PS - it's a G&T tonight, did dry November so feel I deserve it!0 -
Thankfully, the rain held off till i got home. I got to meet the new owners of the residential home where Mom is today. Very nice they are too. If i am honest, i was never keen on the former owner. She said all the right things but the building was tatty. Not pleasant at all. I have complimented all the staff. Credit where credit is due but i have complained to them about the state of the place. They have assured me they will be spending money on the building.
I had a word with the acting manager about a few things whilst i was there but she was a bit tied up as the inspectors were in. The health authority came to collect Mothers zimmer frame today (think i told you about that previously) but instead of coming to collect it, they bought her a new one so they ended up taking two back.
I dont think Mom will have many days out of bed now. She can no longer hold the top half of her body up. She has to be propped up to sit in a chair and even then she ends up slumping.
Last week i noticed she was almost out of shampoo so i took her some on Friday. It has gone missing and a bottle of new shampoo and conditioner has been left in its place..... Oh well, i only wanted to save them a couple of pounds. I shant be bothering with the fruit and magazines either from now on either since my brother and the girlfriend are now buying them too.
Mother was in an agressive mood today. She went to thump me and she screamed at me. I nearly jumped out of my skin. Her glasses dont fit her any more and i dont think she knew it was me because when i spoke to her she withdrew her clenched fist.
So, i'm whacked this afternoon. Hubby is whining about the parking sensors on the car and one of the dogs has been sick in the kitchen.
Is it bedtime yet?:DThis is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

Healing vibes for Lacy Chick and Bill Horse.
Now I need to get on the other laptop and see if I can drum up a birthday card for Mr LW (using Aitch Pee card software and Cr!cut cutting software) - it's his 66th b'day on Saturday. If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
Hope its ok to join in on here.
I used to be a board regular, but forgot the MSE way and have frittered too much money.. Really trying to reign myself, and pride myself on being thrifty again.
Feeling a bit down today, not even sure why, just feel fragile.
Had SW this morming, and lost 2.5lbs which I am really pleased with.
Bolognese for dinner with some Yellow Stickered mince I had shoved in the freezer. All the rest will be from store cupboards.
Just want to hibernate!
Hope everyone is ok. X0 -
Mrs butler you are very welcome, we like new friends to talk to.
Well done on the weight loss, and I can quite understand the hibernation wish. I feel like that when it is cold and dark, and some days it seems dark all day. I remember when I used to work Iwould go out in the morning in the dark, come home in the evening in the dark and sometimes it was dark at lunchtime.
Chin up Mrs butler, you are amongst friends here.
Hugs
