O/S Daily Thread for Tuesday 1st December

Good morning everyone :hello:

Thank you Tru for your good wishes, I woke up this morning to a beautiful card and a gorgeous retro-style DAB radio from my lovely hubby. The years together have flown by, I'm so blessed to have found my soul-mate. OK, that's enough mushy stuff, it's too early in the morning for all that :rotfl::rotfl:.

I am making a practice Christmas dinner for tonight as we used to go out for one every year on our anniversary but now I'm not up to it. I'm looking forward to making it as hubby normally makes the roast dinners.

I have some wrapping to do as yesterday ran away with me and I got very little done. I've already washed a load of clothes this morning and tidied the living room. My friend is coming over this morning so I want to get as much done as possible before she gets here.

Morning everyone,

Only just woken up, my DOH let me sleep and took the girls out as had / have bad headache.
Yesterday went as well as possible for my equine pal, he loaded into the lorry like a professional and we got to the EH by 8.30. Bless him he was soaking with sweat when he got off but was so well behaved, just looking around really.
Had an initial consultation with the vet who was going to asses him then went out to watch him move and discuss all options. Once the plan was made I came home but couldn't settle to doing anything all day, the Vet phoned about 3 to say that after several nerve blocks they had pin-pointed the potentional problem to below his fetlock but wanted to keep him in overnight for more tests tomorrow. So who knows what today will bring. Am incredibly lucky to have such an amazing facility literally on our doorstop and know he's getting best possible treatment but boy I hated walking away yesterday and leaving him there, soppy I know.

Anyways, have bored you all long enough with all this.

Tru - thank you for the carol, as a newbie didn't know about this tradition but how lovely and festive.

Tru :T Yay I am so excited I belted that out full blast, I love our little tradition !!


Day off today for packing etc I have the last wash on the go and will try and hand it out today as its really blowy. I need to clean the fridge and eat / dispose of anything that might go off.


Got some pork chops for dinner tonight might just do some homemade chips with them and peas that will be nice and easy.

Good Morning everyone, dry here today and much less windy, forecast is for it to stay dry too so washing is in the machine with a view to putting it out on the whirligig to dry. No luck yesterday in finding the new dining room table so have decided to put that on hold until the new year when we'll have more time. Phone call late evening yesterday from DD2 said that FINALLY they have a moving date but it's the 18th of December and DD1 and I will be in Berlin for the Christmas Markets!!! He Who Knows will go down to help and the nursery can accommodate my Zebra for an extra day that week which should make life less hassled on the day. It's going to be a busy few weeks from now on I think!

HESTER the biggest luxury I can imagine for your DD would be to give her an uninterrupted hour or two where you could buy her a pamper kit of a face pack, some lovely bubble bath, a scented candle and perhaps some wine, find her a new book in a charity shop and them go take over in the house while she actually gets a little time to herself to soak, relax and just BE!!!

LAINEY hope Bill has another good day at the equine hospital and that the vet can actually find the cause of his discomfort and find a means to put it right thus giving you both back the pleasure you have in each other and life in general, everything crossed for you M'dears!

Good Morning everyone and well done TRU for starting our December as usual with a nice Christmas Carol, you have become the virtual advent calendar for the OSer's on here every year.:):):)

Well this afternoon I shall have three little helpers to put up my tree as my three youngest DGS will come here direct from school .They love to decorate it and put it up for me, and I feed them hot chocolate and HM melting moment biscuits,seems like a fair exchange to me :):)
The weather is looking a bit damp and mizzly at the moment

I have my U3A coffee morning at the local Dobbies this morning .I use my December coffee voucher so it won't cost me anything :):)

No shopping to buy as eldest DD gets most of my Christmas shopping for me online and delivered to her workplace so I don't have to stay in and wait for deliveries .
Plus I hate being pushed and shoved around in shopping malls I am not a patient shopper at all. I like to get in buy what I want and get home again.In fact I really don't like shopping much at all

I would rather eat my own liver than go shopping with my DD as she dawdles around and I just find it a total waste of precious time when I could be doing something more useful. I know some folk love it ,but not me at all. But each to their own

1st of December already. I dont know where the last 12 months have gone i really dont. Everyone is having gift cards this year courtesy of ShopandScan. Need to get Mother a new warm nightdress though, think ive got enough vouchers for that.

House is clean and tidy. Dogs are well and happy. Men safe and at work and i'm off to see Mother soon. Its not raining at the moment. I hope it stays that way till i get back.
