I noticed that text as well. Whether it's always been there, I can't tell as I don't use TCB much, but I seem to remember the "main" Nationwide offer said something along the lines of "offer may not be used in conjunction with any of our other current account cash reward offers". Seems they have now decided to enforce this.

That text was definitely not there when i combined the RAF with the TCB £78 offer in October last year. I did query your point Archi Bald re that term 11 in RAF T&C and NW told me it did include cashback offers via third party websites such that I could thus not combine TCB with RAF for same switch. In the end I gave it a go as read a thread on here that some had been successful in combining both. The result was that got RAF £100 in Nov and my £78 TCB went from Pending to Confirmed status a day or two ago so all looks fine. Given the new text then they must have wised up to this and started to enforce it only v recently. (And I also did the same combo for family member in late Dec and again no sign of that new text.)

Actually just logged into my TCB as had a non-NW related support ticket and see what you mean now as that wording appears in a suggested question and answer below the support ticket along with another one about how to change your email address. My cashback still showing as confirmed though so hopefully be paid shortly!

Can you please explain how that works?

if you open it on the first in the first month you get 5% interest on £500 for 31 days. If you open it on the 21st you get 5% interest on 10 days, and then 21 days on £6000 at the end of the year.

Well I don't want to jump to conclusions about enforcement as I'm still in the middle of the switching process. It was more a case of whether or not I could cry foul if it ultimately gets denied (right now it's in pending status) because it was a new term. I certainly don't remember seeing it when I applied in December...

    So fingers crossed ;)

If either or both of the offers say that they can't be combined with other offers, you have no grounds for crying foul if you don't get paid both.

I notice that the RAF terms include this condition:

11 This offer may not be used in conjunction with any of our other current account cash reward offers.

Is a cashback paid via quidco or TCB a current account a Nationwide cash reward offer or not?

    http://www.nationwide.co.uk/products/current-accounts/service/raf-conditions

No harm in applying via the cashback sites in addition to RAF - you might get lucky and get both but I would assume the £100 RAF overrides the cashback site as its usually paid first.

Quidco's offer - currently £75 - makes no reference to the RAF exclusion in the terms. The £75 offer is apparently due to expire in 3 days - although who can say whether the replacement will be zero, more than £75 or less?

Why the 21st and not the 31st? Opening it at end of the month is even better, then you get interest on £500 for 1 day then you can put another £500 in the next day (new month) and in the last month you get interest on £6000 for 30 days.

I agree, it was just an example, but there are issues in leaving it too late in case the account and first deposit doesnt happen before month end. Indeed the old Lloyds RS prevented accounts being opened after the 24th.You might need to take weekends into account as well.

Have any new customers had difficulty opening the Flexcusive Regular Saver account?

I recently switched my current account from Santander to Nationwide's FlexDirect account using the bank switching service and it was complete on 8th January.

I've tried opening the Flexcusive Regular Saver account using internet banking and their mobile app and I receive the same message:

To open this account, you need to have a main current account with Nationwide and have been paying in £750 or more a month.

I've paid in £1000 and set up various standing orders - not that these matter since I believe I meet the requirements since I have a FlexDirect account.

Their customer service on the telephone don't really have any suggestions but to try again in a couple of days since my account might not be active yet so I thought I'd see if anyone else had experienced similar issues.
