I've just sent an e-mail to e-on & should here back within five working days.

Just said that I was wondering what would happen if we had a power cut, if there was any financial help with the bill & that I was "in contact with others in a similar situation" & we were watching various companies for their responses.

    Anyone else care to try?

Good Luck with your appt Kaat..hope it turns out how you hope ;)

e-on called back yesterday tea-time & I must have been on the phone cuz they left a message..Anyhoo. They passed my details on to the British Lung Foundation & I had a call from them this morning...how's that for service :D

Not a lot of help re:financal help per se, but she did advise claiming for Disability Living Allowance, because of the impact OSA has on one's lifestyle & choices.

So that's as far as I've got today.

Good Luck with your appt Kaat..hope it turns out how you hope ;)

I don't know if it'll help but all of the energy companies have a social tariff for "vulnerable" customers. You don't get money off your bill but you do get the cheapest rate no matter how you pay your bills, eg. if you're on a prepayment meter you only pay the cheapest standard rate instead of the more expensive prepayment rate. You normally need to be a pensioner or chronically sick or disabled and need to be receiving certain benefits but it is worth ringing your energy company and asking them about their Social Tariff.

We're with British Gas and we're also on their Home Energy Care Register because hubby is chronically sick & disabled. You don't get much help but you do get priority if there's a powercut.

Thanks Anguk, I'll go for a nosy in a mo :p but the lady from the Lung thingy said it depends on what machine you have. Because I've a CPAP & not something to do with oxygen I don't qualify :o
