What is it with this Motoring Forum

You've just created a paradox. The universe will now implode while trying to reconcile it. :beer:EssexExile wrote: »I just read the motoring forum for a laugh. I've given up posting on it.0 -
Every time i come onto this forum to make comment on things that i actually know about there is always some new user who irritates and questions everything that people post !
I only comment on stuff that i know about and am certain of my advice or comments .
I am really put off coming on here to be honest , 30 years as a Police Officer does give me some knowledge of how the law and procedure works ...... (I have recently retired and not some ageing ex cop from the 70's)
I use many other forums under my actual name and apart from one other don't get the agro i do on here.
Lets see what response we get to this post
You were told by two different members yesterday you were wrong on a matter to do with nips. Yet continued to argue you were right. Either you were out of touch when Cameron decided to bin off elderly plods or things have changed since you left.0 -
To the OP:
There is no proof that you (or anyone on here) is what you say you are and I have no opinion as to whether you are who you say you are
Forums are a places where ideas where ideas get passed around without ego or social status, and I will respect what you write even though I may disagree and say so. But telling me that you have 30 years experience as a copper doesn't give you any additional entitlement
BTW I am an ex copper too, sorry I lied, I am an ex rally driver.... No ex pilot etc.... see what I mean0 -
Could be worse, you could be the member posting up a thread in which case you will be accused of being a troll or even worse, DM0

Motoring is one of those topics where everyone seems to have an opinion, and there are also a lot of old wives tales around, as well.0

And banter. Everyone seems to have an opinion about your old wifeCornucopia wrote: »Motoring is one of those topics where everyone seems to have an opinion, and there are also a lot of old wives tales around, as well.

My old wives - to be technically accurate.

Some of their tales would make you blush.0 -

Some people respect the Police unlike those that only read the Daily Mail ! I can prove i was a Police Officer if people like to ask . Whether you believe that or not is up to you , oddly the issues on here are like water off a ducks back . I am on here to help , thats generally what forums re for afterall . Some peoples views or opinions hold more credence than others if you are mature enough to actually ask what their experience in life is ? Many forums Re full of people quoting stuff they have only gleaned from the internet , not all is good advice or true.
If you want to know how to play tennis would you ask a Tennis player/Pro or a random bloke on the internet ? Same when asking about Police matters i would say ?
Anyway , this post will probably receive some negative comments too !0 -
There are lots who don't (remember what they did to Liddle Towers!)Some people respect the Police unlike those that only read the Daily Mail !......
But whether or not we respect the police is irrelevant (as is what paper we read) (And are you trying to tell us that we must believe what an ex policeman posts on here simply because he can prove his police record - the police make plenty of mistakes)
On every page there is a message saying "anyone can post...exercise caution...."0 -
