Why do people keep asking that? :rotfl:

It's me unless you mean social services. And if it's me my am I being referred to as a 'what' like I'm an object! :rotfl:

Unless it's a sex object which is fine. :)

Just remember to be kind to those of us who are still paying off mountains of debt when you are off having fun and enjoying your debt free status. ;):D

  • I miss the babies very much and the 10's are much harder because they are in lots of ways comparitively grown up and are already displaying a lot of what will become their adult character traits and most of them question everything and use the internet to check anything that I tell them. :o
The trick with this one is to use the nanny settings on the computer at school to make sure that anything you tell them can't be searched for on the site. With any luck they will have the attention of gnats and forget about searching when they get home:cool: I used to teach this age range and year 6, they were very quick and i had to be 10 steps ahead of them, one little so and so had worked a way around the firewall by sending himself e mails of downloaded games, lovely gruesome war games!!!he was also always trying to get into the admin controls and alter settings. I had to work quickly with him and block all his e mails and get rid of everything he had downloaded. Cost me the best part of an evening sorting it out. I also used to teach half the week in infants, and i really liked them very imaginative bunch but the toilet training i didn't miss!! Nor getting them to a pe lesson before the lesson finished:D

I am getting used to it but it is just such a big change from the babies. I think I like the babies so much because no matter how horrific and abusive their backgound is or has been they still have an overwhelming trust in human nature and see the good in people which always reminds me of my sister because despite her age and some of the really terrible things that have happened to her over the years she still has that as well whereas most people have lost it by the time that they reach my childrens age group.:o

I wish I was a millionaire but unfortunately I am only getting the debts reduced at a decent rate by freeloading off of my family so I still really do not have more than than two pennies that I can truthfully call my own to rub together. :o I do not whinge nearly so much these days though which should come as a relief. :rotfl:

Well i can definately relate to that, there has always been that lovely element of trust and absolute wander in the world with the younger ones. It almost breaks your heart to see the cynisism enter their world as they get older, i used to hate to see that dead eye look when a child was worried. It's funny how protective we become over them and i would have stopped a truck dead for those children i have taught.
My family has had its share of heartbreak and horrible things happening over the past few years and people do constantly amaze me with their resiliant spirit. I have been thinking that maybe this board echoes that spirit and that is why we endeavor to go on and to realise there is something better for us all. Perhaps your sister sees herself in you in that respect, because you are continuing and acheiving and have a long time goal. You have a similar spirit in that you have trusted yourself to the folk on this board and in doing so have managed to help others-if that makes sense. Because you have done it then so will others. God i'm sounding mushy now must be the time of night, but i had to say it.
