I almost forgot my last good thing is that I have my payslip for my second job and my money goes into the bank tomorrow and as promised I have a bonus on top of my normal wages so watch this space tomorrow because as of tomorrow my debt total will be reduced even more and I will be continuing with my freeloading ways for the time being. :D :rotfl:

I'm pleased the new school is going so well for you hun.

Sounds like you had a nice afternoon. Hopefully your ex OH will get all that he deserves and more. I'm a firm believer in karma ;)
Is it better to aim for the stars and hit a tree or aim for a tree and land in its branches

Like my sister said he has had it coming for a very long time and he really deserves to suffer for everything that he has done and I do not mean to me here but I am glad now that I was talked into keeping quiet and walking away with my dignity intact. :o

  • My wages were in the bank at 6.00 o'clock this morning which I found out when I was getting ready to go for a run and after everybody had taken their share of both my wages and of my bonus I was left with £794.31 but I Rounded this up to £805.00 which I then transferred to debt and this now leaves my total outstanding at £7,500.00 to go until August so this is really looking ever more manageable by the day. :D I really do need to contact Student Loans and find an up to date balance outstanding so that I can plan how I am going to deal with them but with the amounts that they seem to take off of me every month I am just hoping that I do not have a scary huge amount left to find for them.

You seem a bit like Kirsty from Location, Location, Location except she normally knocks walls down where as you have knocked down the mountain of debt you had. Well done on only having £7,500 to go. :j

Thank you I am so pleased about how far I have come so far which I have only managed because of the tremendous support that I have received both from here and from my sister who introduced me to this site in the first place. :D My success has really all been due to my amazing sister who in the beginning dealt with all of the debt collectors for me and helped me to learn how to budget properly and cook cheap and edible meals and even how to organise my packed lunches for work and she has even gone and found me second jobs that fit around my main job and career to help me earn more so that I could pay everything off more quickly. I have at times been really horrible to her and taken all of my frustrations about my life and debts out on her only for her to respond with compassion and kindness and assurance that it will all get better one day. Furthermore she has taken me into her home for as long as I want to be there and refuses to accept any contribution towards any of the overheads whatsoever telling me that my debts are my priority not her food bill. :D So really she is the superstar in all of this only she just does not realise this at all and insists she is just doing what anybody else would. :o

Your sister certainly seems to have guided you but did you ever hear "You can take a horse to water but you cannot make it drink"? You need to give yourself more credit and realise how far you have come.

I am sadly just not a natural equestrian and was usually too busy being thrown and trodden on to ever notice what horses do when they are taken near to water. :D :rotfl: I think that I probably will be proud and feel like I have achieved something when I have finally cleared my debt total and am finally working on paying off my student loans which are my only non defaulted debt but which I will probably still be paying off by the time that I retire if I just continue doing it through my tax contributions. :o

I have had another very good day today and I only had to spend just over an hour in my work tonight where I got fed pizza and played balloon tennis with my boss and I am actually still getting paid well above the minimum wage for it but I did have to translate some e-mails and write some invoices in Italian which took all of five minutes to do. :D I sometimes wish that my day job was this easy. :rotfl: I was asked today by one of the people that I work with what brought me up here to live really and for the first time ever I was actually really honest about why I left home and about then when I did how I could not pay my bills and how in the end I ended up living here and it was actually a relief to be honest about it all for once and I really did feel lots better for it though my friend looked a bit shocked and lost for words. :o :rotfl:

  • I am looking for some advice here and am hoping that you will all give me an honest answer here. I have kind of being reassessing my life and my priorities over the last day or so and I know that I am now ready to properly move on and even consider new relationships as a positive step because I have definitely done my seven stages of grieving and hours of soul searching over the last one and I am officially back on the market as of tomorrow. :D I have friends coming up for the weekend and I have all of my clothes picked out and planned where we are going and all of that but I am beginning to wonder if it would be really terrible to spend some money on me and maybe get my hair done professionally for the first time in ages or get something new to wear just really to make me feel good and not because I actually need either of them. Would this be really bad and show that I have a lack of true commitment to being debt free?
