  • I'm not telling! ;)

But do you always look that good? :)

If you were one of the group who were so busy watching me collecting empty glasses that they managed to miss the second goal then you would know and I was definitely not looking my best tonight because I ran out of time and did not manage to straighten my hair. :)

  • I have managed to clear my smallest outstanding debt today. :D I managed to get the Lewis Group to agree to what I thought was a good settlement figure and they agreed to give me seven days to pay it so I set up a standing order to them and transferred the money to them. I am now officially £957.19 less in debt and I have now got a current total of £23,834.54 outstanding to clear. :)

  • If you're a teacher surely you can use the same courage to stand up to these bullys as you use in your classroom?
  • If you're a teacher surely you can use the same courage to stand up to these bullys as you use in your classroom?

This will probably not make much sense to anybody else but it does to me so please bear with me. :o In my classroom I am a trained professional doing what I know is right and that gives me confidence in what I do but when it comes to my debts I know that I was stupid and that I was totally in the wrong to end up finding myself owing so much to so many people with no real ability to pay back what I had agreed to and then trying to run away and hide from it and pretending that it was not really happening. I think it is probably guilt that makes me so bad at dealing with the Debt Collectors because I know that they are right when they tell me how stupid and irresponsible I am and this makes me feel that I really do not have the right to stand up to them and defend myself.

  • I totally forgot about the things that I had listed on ebay on Sunday and had not realised that they had actually finished. :o I still have not actually worked out how I am going to explain their absence to my brother in law yet but I think that being the very brave sort that I am that I might actually leave the explaining part to my sister. ;)

errrrrrrmmmmm, I am an accountant who is supposed to be responsible too!

I think you will find many people on here are totally responsible in every aspect of their lives except money. You really should stop putting yourself down. The debt collectors don't actually know you are stupid (and I was not saying you are) they just do everything they can to make you pay! Include make you feel bad!

Anyway, how much did you make on ebay?

  • If it is their job to make people feel bad about themselves then in my experience they are all exceptionally good at their chosen careers. I made a total of £344.01 on ebay. :D I am totally confused by the 1p but I will not complain because I need all the 1p's that I can get right now. :rotfl:

Glass half full or half empty! They are either good at their job or you need to develop a thicker skin....I think you must stop feeling guilty. You do not sound remotely like a bad person.

It does get easier as you get older!

  • Thank you I know I need to become less sensitive and take the viewpoint that my sister has which is that nobody has actually died or been permanently injured as a result of my debts so it is not worth losing sleep over but I am finding it hard to do. :o I was really pleased about it because even although it is not mearly enough to actually pay any of them off it is a start and I will also be getting a lot of extra pub shifts over the next two weeks because there will be two freshers weeks running one week after the other so I will be making extra money there as well. :D
