  • Can I have your family because I would really like parents who actually notice instead of the older sister from hell. Nighty :o

  • And if it's any consolation, I think my parents think I've got a gambling addiction :rotfl:

I am hiding out in my classroom for my lunchbreak because the stafroom is a particularly unfriendly place to be at the moment and was rereading your post and decided to call my sister and ask what she knew about gambling addiction because she knows quite a lot about addictions. She started to talk about euphoria and endorphins and stimulation and a lot of other things that went right over my head before stopping dead and then asking in a very worried tone if I was trying to tell her that I had started to gamble money that I could not afford. I told her not to be so silly and that of course I was not doing that but I do not think that she believed me. :o

She is probably now faxing my picture to every bookies in my area and instructing them not to let me in on pain of death. :rotfl:

  • I had what I thought was some really good news today which was that I will be moving up a point on the pay scale and earning more money but my joy was short lived. After student loans have taken their percentage my actual payrise will amount to something in the region of £20.00 per month.

Any plans for the mega bucks? Standing order direct to the debt?
  • Yes that is my plan but I might need somebody to verify my calculations because it is such a big amount and I could rasily make mistakes when dividing it up. :rotfl:

You do not have to worry either way because at least she is not your sister. I am dreading the inevitable call when she gets home from work and I am just hoping that she stops for a drink to celebrate her good news on the way. :rotfl:

  • I just had the funniest call ever off my sister who quite clearly did go out to the pub after work because she told me not to transfer the car money to her. :D Anyway she told me to actually open the boot of my car and look inside it which I did and it is packed full of more things for me to ebay and most of them seem to belong to my brother in law. :rotfl:

    Hi there
Well done on having such a fab sister. Please enjoy her. Other people me included have had a lot of real pain with siblings. Currently one of my brothers doesn't speak to me, and I don't know where the other one is (ie he could be dead for all I know).

Also (and the reason for the post), I think you need to read the confirmation letter about these full and final settlements VERY CAREFULLY. The reason they are called full and final, is because they are meant to be JUST THAT. Ie final AND TOTAL settlement of the debt. This should mean that these debts are shown as satisfied NOT partially satisfied on your credit report.

As I understand it if a debt is only shown as partially satisfied, there is no reason why the company can't come back to you for more money, even though they have taken this offer from your now. So make sure you know what you are signing, up to and including taking it to the CAB, or financially savvy friend (or sister?), to make sure.

well done with your progress so far

Thank you for your kind words. It was all dealt with by phone which means that I have to wait for the written confirmation to come through but my sister is a named third party representative on all accounts because I was far too scared to deal with everything on my own in the beginning and even although she comes across as all sweetness and light on the surface she is actually very like a mummy tiger when she gets riled so I have no doubt at all that they were dealt with in my best interests.

I am trying really hard and I know that I have a long and difficult route ahead of me but I keep telling myself that I will get there. :D

I am sorry that you have such an awful family situation because I really do not know where I would be without my sister. :o
