Think I'll go to bed - I'm not telling how old I am but it's waaaaay older than Bob so I feel ancient. Too old to be playing with you all. Bum :o & night night X X (:D )

    Hi Ciara,

Lovely news about your student loan, let them help you out because it is obvious that they love you very much and they want to help you. Anyway you won't be much help to them when the baby arrives if you are working all the hours!!!!

You can't leave here though so once your celebration is over you will have to get your thinking cap on and post your saving plans on here for once the student loan is gone.

    Tara x

Thank you. :D To be honest I have not even thought about what comes next after clearing my debts because it seemed that that was all that I would have to focus on for the forseeable future. :o Now I am going to have to come up with a new plan and find something that I am going to save up really hard for but I am really not sure what unless I start saving up to buy a house outright or something because even after six years when my credit history has actually cleared I will still not actually be earning enough to get a mortgage on anything bigger than a six bearth tent. :D :rotfl:

it seems that 2008 is definitley your year, you seem much happier now than you did at the beginning of your thread- don't forget that i booked my train ticket weeks ago to come and move in!! :d

speaking of birthday cakes am i the only person thats never had one?

I just hope that it stays being my year because before now it has seemed like ever such a long time since anything has gone my way. :o There is definitely plenty of space here for everybody so do not worry about that. :D

i've decided i'm not having any more birthdays!!
if i were to have a birthday this year i would be 30 so it's not going to happen!! i'm going to celebrate the1st anniversary of my last birthday instead, if i dont have any more birthdays i can't get any older!!!

My sister will be 32 this year and she proudly celebrates every birthday as kind of like a marking of the knowledge that she has gained and the achievements that she has made throughout the year which to me seems like kind of a good way to look at your age. I do not think that anybody even thinks about her age because she is so young at heart and full of enthusiasm for everything anyway which seems to always be the only thing that people see about her. :D

Hi Ciara, I've been over on the comps board for a while :D so only just caught up with your thread. Many congratulations on your debt-busting and delighted to hear that the new BF is working out well!
You've had wonderful help from your sister - the best sort of help is to help people to help themselves. Long may it continue!

Thank you very much. :D If I am completely honest then I am secretly a bit worried and suspicious about how well everything is going because it just never really goes this well in the world of Ciara. :o:confused:

I am just about ready to go to work yet again now and I can honestly say that I never realised quite how much I enjoyed my second jobs until I actually am not totally reliant on them to help clear all of my debts. :D I am not sure but I think I may be being kind of a bit selfish keeping both of the jobs now but I really want to now. :o If anybody has any suggestions for what my savings target could be can you please let me know because I need something new to aim for from the end of May. :D

well you have got your holiday coming so you will need spends for that and maybe treat yourself to some new holiday clothes
maybe you could save to get your new niece/nephew something really special when he/she arrives

Great suggestions. How about saving up a fund to cover you for three months if you lost your job(s)? All the money gurus advise that.
Also how about a 'home' fund because even though you are having a lovely time living with the family, the time may come when you want to move into a home of your own, rented or not, with a wonderful partner or not?
Instead of one savings pot, it seems to work well if you have one for each goal, then you can decide how much or how little you will save for each of them each month.
    HTH :)

That's not so bad- have you let SS know yet, he will be so pleased for you.

No she hasn't let me know! ;)

Bloody hell hun! I can't believe how quickly you've paid it off. Am so proud of you! Well done! :T :j :T :j :T

£38k in the space of what, 9 months? :rotfl:

And I hope you are giving yourself some credit. It's you that has taken on second jobs, you that has uprooted yourself from a flat and job, and you that sold your car! :)

But, you really need to pay off debts for a whole year to learn your lesson so I'll PM you my bank account number and at the rate you go mine will be clear by May aswell! :T ;)
