HP Laserjet CP1215 going faint on left side of page

With respect to your point about printing one of two pages stressing components, then this would sound to be rather like with a motor vehicle that never gets a proper run and only ever does very very short trips.
Yeah close, the main component that gets stressed is the fuser as it has to get up to temp each time you use it, once it is up there then printing another 100 sheets doesn't make a huge difference. It is one of the bones of contention with customers who see the fuser is rated for say 100,000 pages but they need a replacement at half that. HP are a pain to raise warranty claims too.0 -
It is still on the original three colour cartridges and is on its second black one. The Toolbox has been flagging them up as needing replacement for ages, but you know what these things are like – they indicate a replacement is needed when there's still life in the part.
At present, the Toolbox reports that the three colour cartridges each have 0% in and the black 3%.
Aha, this could be the toners then, you didn't say they were that low!Can the ITB be cleaned? (I have a Service Manual which shows disassembly.)
It is more likely to get scratched (happens in normal operation) and worn than dirty.0 -
Thanks. I will try fitting the new black cartridge and see if it makes any difference to the printed black.Big_Graeme wrote: »Aha, this could be the toners then, you didn't say they were that low!0 -
:doh::doh::doh: Fitted new black cartridge and it prints black properly. Put the old one back in and it went faint again. Put the new black cartridge in again and it works.0

I'll try to pretend I'm surprised. :rotfl: :rotfl:... DaveHappily retired and enjoying my 14th year of leisureI am cleverly disguised as a responsible adult.Bring me sunshine in your smile0 -
My colour HP Laserjet printer has a low toner overide setting.....
It makes the printer use the cartridges until they are totally empty not when there is about 25% left in them !!
Yours may have one.....makes the expensive HP cartridges last a lot longer.

The low toner waning should show till about 5% then they will stop unless you over ride, but then you get issues like this...0
