As ever we are overwhelmed with information from the OP.

edit- I hate to add, but a one time poster who joined in September, as so many first timers on this board. Is it about to get dark so soon?
Give the OP a chance, they only just posted a few hours ago, and besides all the relevant info is in his post.

Lets not ruin yet another thread with more DM reincarnation theories, it's getting very boring now!

Apart from the model level and age. Two vital parts of information to establish whether the salesman was telling a fib or not.

OK - a bit less dramatic than the title suggests but yesterday I bought a Mercedes E class. The advert said it had isofix child fittings and when buying the car I asked the salesman if it had isofix to which he confirmed.

I took the car home and then went to install my child seat and low and behold I can not find the fitting!
A quick glance will tell you - in the showroom - whether a car has isofix or not.
  • you should have bought a BMW M3 with ISOFIX. A much better car.

If you think DM is bad, try having a read of this thread over on pistonheads. 16 pages of a DM style chump going round in circles. They're more patient over there than here!

I believe that factory fit isofix on most mercs is pretty obvious and not hidden in the cushions like many. Retro fits are available for many older models and google comes up with guides.

Fancy not checking that they were fitted when looking round it before buying ? Seems odd not to ?

So why wasn't it apparent when the OP test drove, looked around, and purchased the car?

Maybe he took the salesman at his word, unlike what a number of posters in this forum seem to be doing with new members recently.

No wonder they rarely return after their initial post!
