Car sold under false pretense

OK - a bit less dramatic than the title suggests but yesterday I bought a Mercedes E class. The advert said it had isofix child fittings and when buying the car I asked the salesman if it had isofix to which he confirmed.

I took the car home and then went to install my child seat and low and behold I can not find the fitting!

I have emailed the dealer to see what they say but I just in case it does go pear shaped what rights do I have? Can I return the car within 14 days for example (I bought it yesterday)?

I really like the car so I would be gutted to take it back but without the ability to transport my daughter about it makes the purchase completely pointless. Lesson learned to check at the time of purchase and not rely on advert and salesman's word.

Any advice greatly appreciated!

You can return the car within 30 days for a full refund if it's not as described.

Are these fittings available as an accessory or is it a factory fit? If they can be fitted at this stage as an extra then ask the dealer to supply and fit them free of charge.

What year is the car, I think isofix was mandatory from 2009.

    Are you sure it doesn't?

Looking on Parkers, all of the current E class range come with ISOFIX as standard.

Could be an old e class. Have you bent the seats in all directions to make sure they're definitely not present.

Good point. For some reason I thought I read that it was either a new car or from a Merc Dealer (implying it would be an almost new model).

As ever we are overwhelmed with information from the OP.

edit- I hate to add, but a one time poster who joined in September, as so many first timers on this board. Is it about to get dark so soon?

I'm beginning to suspect that DM101 might actually be an incarnation of another, more long-standing poster who has been ridiculed and chastised in the past for the somewhat spurious, often ludicrous nature of their contribution to the forums.
