Our baby is just over 6 weeks old. The best gift to receive is nappies. Among our various gifts, we received a Boots gift card (to buy nappies) and half a dozen packs of Pampers newborn (absorbs poo really well).

Of the various things we bought ourselves, the best purchase has been Burt's Bees toiletries (for baby). The dusting powder and diaper cream are wonderful and smell gorgeous too.

...I was given an organic nappy cake when my dd was born (it had the eco disposable nappies and earth mama angel baby bits and peices inside the cake and covered with organic clothes). I'll def be buying one for my SIL when she has her baby.

I love this place http://www.babyblooms.co.uk I started buying there for friends and now we're buying a larger gift from all of us for one of the girls at work.

Have to agree. I used to send flowers till I dicovered the baby boquets. They are lovely. I order mine from www.borngifted.co.uk because delivery is included in the price so I feel like I am getting something for nothing!!!!
However for all you fantastically creative folk whose pics of home made nappy cakes i love to look at here on mse I have found this
