Avro Energy reviews: Give your feedback

Let's not descend into silliness. Debts arising from a contract are still payable. So are you suggesting once a switch has occurred, there is no requirement to pay any further charges billed as the contract has ended???
Likewise, there would be no requirement for a supplier to return any accrued credit???
Think about it.
You can contact uSwitch here:

I have no need to contact uSwitch. And I will continue to cancel DDs where my energy account is in credit after a switch to another supplier. You, of course, can clearly do as you think appropriate - as may anyone else.

As a follow-up, I contacted my bank and they've agreed that if you are confident that the account was in credit when the contract ended, there is no reason not to cancel the DD to prevent further unauthorised withdrawals.
Further, under indemnity rules, they have refunded the payment made after the contract ended and are pursuing Avro for reimbursement and an explanation as to why they haven't cancelled the DD themselves.
Still no reply from Avro themselves to email.0 -
No problems with the switch at all .........Great0

Swapped from Simple and Supreme to Simple & MSE Collective and so far have received no confirmation or communication about this from Avro. When asked via their FB page Avro's response was that this was down to MSE. They've now taken an increased DD with no notification so I'm going to use the DD Guarantee.0

Might be worth advising MSE too that they're getting the blame. This supplier needs to be exposed for what it is methinks.wrongplanet wrote: »Swapped from Simple and Supreme to Simple & MSE Collective and so far have received no confirmation or communication about this from Avro. It's on the list - I've been waiting to see if Avro took an increased DD with no notification and now they have.Consumerist wrote: »Might be worth advising MSE too that they're getting the blame. This supplier needs to be exposed for what it is methinks.0 -
4+ weeks since switch and they have billed me for energy I am no longer contracted to them for.
This has pushed my account with them from in credit to debit.
They haven't responded to my enquiry, so DD cancelled as a precaution - they aren't having any more money I don't owe them.0 -
It might be a good idea to get written confirmation of the switch date from your new supplier and the agreed hand-over readings. Then you can start Avro's complaints procedure once you have the facts.4+ weeks since switch and they have billed me for energy I am no longer contracted to them for.

A year or so ago I switched from British Gas to Avro, months into the switch BG were still stealing money from my account for despite the switch having taken place. Avro CS got back to me really quick each time I emailed them confirming everything was ok, IDs of meters etc, BG only started to be helpful when I went to complaints and threatened Ombudsman, eventually they sent me a cheque, when I asked why they couldn't pay direct into my account, they offered to cancel the cheque and then pay the money in!
anyway, recently I switched from Avro to OutFoxTheMarket - this has gone really well, the only slightly annoying thing, that although Avro stopped DDs correctlty, I still had to wait a couple of months, and contact them to say my final bill looked right (not sure how you would know if it's not?) but at least they paid the money owed directly into my back account.
So my experience of Avro has been good, I only changed as OutFox was cheaper this year.0
