Hi, this is the Daily Thread for today. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.
Oh My Goodness the responsibility of starting a new thread for everyone to join I am really worried that someone else is typing at this very second so will post this and then come back in to say good morning properly

Right sure that little post was being over cautious but as a fairly newbie to this OS thread I would hate to be the 1 who messes it up for the day-- and it has been known for me to do such a thing !!
Good morning everybody. Well as I have been awake since 5.00a.m I am not sure the advice about lookin down and contemplating your navel does any good at all ( see yesterdays poting if you are confused) Anyway tired of tossing and turning so gave up.
We had a lovely day with our visitors yesterday. Lovely drive, walk, picnic watching cricket ( just came upon ground when looking for a shady spot )then an hour and a half on the beach-- tried to swim but the water was freezing and the pebbles were killing my feet and making me look less than elegant as I tried to remain erect when walking in the shallows!!! Then to top it off we went out for a meal last night-- nice enough but this MSE lark makes you think that typical Italian restaurants are a bit of a rip off. Pasta with a sauce -- how much!!!!
Anyway a quieter day today and I am really looking forward o it. The garden is beckoning for an early morning water and I have got to get the chicken out of the freezer for a meal tonight. The last night before our visitors leave so its---
Mixed platter starters (too early to spell hors deourves ???) Thats not right but cant be bothered to get dictionary.
Then Malaysian chicken which is a WW recipe and delicious and should compensate slightly for all the over eating that has been going on all week. Served with ratatouille and beans from the garden then Moroccan Orange Salad from the new Rick Stein's book that I have been dying to try.
Well now I wish everyone a happy special day. Congratulations to all those celebrating and gentle thoughts to all those in need if you are feeling sad or poorly0 -
Morning scubaleopard and amie and all who follow
Sorry you had a bad night, scubaleopard, after your good advice to me yesterday! Amazingly, I didn't need it last night as I slept from before midnight until six am . Six months ago I would have thought that was nowhere near enough sleep but after my recent experiences I am delighted with that.
You're right too about going out for meals now that you're OS - I went out for lunch with my best friend to Pizza Express and had a lovely salad - but at £8.25 I couldn't help but feel it wasn't good value - I could have fed the whole family for a few days for that. In the evening OH and I went out for a special dinner at our favourite Indian restaurant - now that was worth it, as we had stuff I wouldn't know how to do at home. It's a really unusual restaurant that our Indian friends go to often (and they are the best cooks I know!) It's above the post office in Stockton Heath near Warrington, if anyone lives nearby.
I'm off to Lytham St Annes today to visit my other best friend and Big Baby Penguin.
Have a good day everyone xxx0 -
Morning aime and scubaleopard.
I just couldnt sleep as dd got in bed with us around 3am and decided she needed all the bed!! So have been on ebay for about a hour just looking for some birthday and xmas ideas (3 out of the 4 kids b/days before xmas!! That was bad timing hey!!)
Spent most of the day yesterday tidying up the garden, dh painted the sheds and playhouse ready for winter and we started cuting back some of the mutant plants we have this year.
Have friends coming round today, normal we spend loads of time together in hoildays but we have both been so busy with different kids activitys we havent hardly seen each other, so planing on a nice afternoon sat in the sun with them, with one or two drinks, so must go make hob nobs and cakes soon. Would love to have bbq but havent got any money left in food budget to cater for one, so doing fresh bread chicken and pasta salad instead.
Hope you are all enjoying you bank hoilday weekend,
Have fun
Donna

Goodmorning Scuba, Amie & all to follow,
The sun has been shining brightly outside today so drying everything up a treat. Helped DH in the garden this morning. I also got around to printing the squillion recipes I had in my recipe file. I'm about to go and sort out my recipe book. The microwave dessert last night I made went hard as a rock & we had *slices* of it for afternoon tea.
I also caught up with my ironing. Got a loaf of bread on and I'm having vegetable curry (leftover) for tea with it. My niece & her DH arrive home (the ones that we stayed with in Oxford) tonight at 7.30pm. Well hope you all have a lovely Sunday. ByeeeeeeeeeDon't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia.0 -
Morning all
Got up at 5:30 this morning to make DH packed lunch as he is out all day so its just me and DS.
DS has just woke up in a mardy mood so it dont look like I am going to get much housework etc done todaySo going to stick his in the night garden dvd on while I run and have a quick shower.
Then I might take him a walk up to the local bootfair to see if there is any bargains to be hadplus it will give us a bit of exercise as I have put on far too much weight over this last few months and I was most upset yesterday when I tried to get into a pair of trousers that I bought last summer that fitted me perfect..Now I cant get the zip done up
so thats it I am on a diet as of today..Not sure how long it will last.
For lunch I have left over pasta bake from last nights tea...I have quiet a few veggies that will be going off soon so I might do a batch of HM veg soup to freeze for lunches next week
Right I am going to end now..
Hope everyone has a great day/bank holiday

Morning all,
Sun's not quite out properly yet, but it's trying.
I've got a little ironing to do today. Then I'm meeting up with my friend for a walk in the woods. She's back from her holiday, and I've missed her, we can have a catch up and poochie can enjoy the walk too.
I'm going to attempt some HM chili tonight, I usually make it from a packet mix, going to have a little on a jacket spud, and freeze the rest (if it's yummy!)
No work today, I'm off to another friends house after dinner for our weekly poker game, will have to set my video for the crime channel as it's 'Serial killer night'!
Hope everyone has a good day.
Edit: Just remembered, I've got to stick alot of stuff on ebay today too!

Good Morning all!
Not sure what's happening today; DH says he wants to go for a bike ride, which then leaves me at home......
GOing to have the pork tonight rahter than last night, we really didn't have dinner as we were full from the lunch we had.
Also working on our budget so we know how much money we have for things to do around the house - not as much as we thought, once all the little bills are added in ............ so I do need to get back to work so i can get overtime.
Also need to get the money we are owed from our old LL (£1500) and a driving school that never gave me a refund - took them to court, they never responded, got a judgement, then a warrant and am now waiting on the baliffs to collect; I hope they do - its £750!0 -

Good morning, goood morning:D
Well Ive had a bit of a lie in this morning :T , and hubby has got up at silly o'clock to go golfing before it gets too busy...
After yesterdays busy busy hive of activity....The only think im doing today is the roast dinner later....and the chicken is allready cooked, stripped off and i turned the carcass into chicken n veg soup yesterday;) .... so i got 4 big portions of soup, 2 pots of mushed peas and 2 containers of chicken in the freezer yesterday :j ... and for lunch im having leftover pasta salad - from last nights tea
...and if hubby is hungry when he gets back i have half a loaf of home made bread from yesterday and egg on toast it is - which will make him a happy man, and if not im slicing it and freezing it:j ....
Im glad i have no washing to do, as it is glorious out there..... but we are not supposed to hang washing out on a sunday:mad: ...so i would be so peeved if i had any waiting to be done....
So today i am determined to get some cross stitching done...if only i can pull myself away from hereand stop looking through my cookbooks..... looking or more recipes i can adapt to old style ways:rotfl:
well i hope you all have a good sunday....-6 -8 -3 -1.5 -2.5 -3 -1.5-3.50
