    Use less water???

Approx £2.40 per M3 for water sewerage is pretty high - but that depends where you live. Severn Trent charge £1.94.

52 M3 in 4.5 months is approx 140M3 a year. The average is approx 60M3 per year per person.

    Look at your company's website.

Would it be Anglian Water that cover your area?

Don't forget to claim for a rebate if your surface water doesn't go into the sewer, most houses don't. It's about £17 per annum, not a fortune but every little helps.

That charge isn't shown in the detailed breakdown the OP gave.

Incidentally the surface water charge might be £17 for you, but it can be much higher depending on your company - up to £77 for Severn Trent and I don't think that is the highest in UK.

It could be AW or Cambridgshire water in that area.

You should also be checking your meter readings from time to time so that you are not paying for too much or too little water with inaccurate estimated readings.

There is NO chance that the actual rates (per M3, etc) in your bill are wrong.
  • Tariq do you have a water meter??

I got one installed a couple of months ago and if the meter isn't actually inside of your property it is essential to check for any possible excess leakage through old pipework, from the meter to your home. Take a reading and check it again after a long spell of being out of the house. A meter has got to be cheaper option in the long term for a single person..er hopefully?
I'm in NE England and Northumbria water were charging me £286.10 pa

As his bill stated he had used 53 cubic meters it can be safely assumed that he has a meter!!!

Tariq - how many people are there living at the property? Without knowing that, it's impossible to tell whether you water consumption is considered reasonable or not.
