Even now, I've not seen any evidence that customers, at least in Europe, have been misled.it shouldn't matter on if you are mass environmentalist or not, The point is the company deliberately mislead it customers at the point of sale (even by a few MPGs they still deliberately miss lead the consumer something your not aloud to do).0 -
I appreciate emissions will vary from the labs tests to the real word and even if it’s the same model the nature of the manufacturing process itself means it can considerably different from one car to the next. Taking the average figure into count when making my decision and if I had known the cars had been specifically designed to only perform during a test environment I would have not have purchased the product I have been deliberately mislead that information should have been made clear.
It’s all speculation until we know exactly the fix vw are going to do I just wonder if I am in my rights to refuse the recall on the grounds they have had my car in the garage more than enough times under warranty already. I have already done my part and given them a reasonable chance. What would the repercussions of doing so would be?0 -

My friend, you are not alone. Many other people have purchased their cars from VW and will no doubt now be telling us, like you, that NOx values were the top of their priority list when they selected the car they did and that they just couldn't possibly continue to drive their cars because of the damage it will do to the environment.
You will not need to face this by yourself. Multiple extremely helpful PPI companies will shut down and re-open in a couple of months with a new name and contact as many of the Great British public as possible to see if we bought a VW (infact, they'll probably not even be that bothered if it was a VW!). These companies, will fight the battle you seem to want to take on yourself. Save yourself the bother. They will even claim their costs from VW, not you.
So simply sit back, continue to read updates from the Daily Mail and wait until the phone rings! :money:0 -

It's not a case of the emissions 'varying from the lab tests', manufacturers are bending the rules so far that they bear no resemblance to the real world figures. So while they're not fitting a cheat device, they're actually producing much worse figures than VW are so if you're genuinely concerned about the Nitrous Oxide emissions you'd be worse off with many other cars as the table on the previous page showed. It’s all speculation until we know exactly the fix vw are going to do I just wonder if I am in my rights to refuse the recall on the grounds they have had my car in the garage more than enough times under warranty already. Whatever your issues are with your particular car should be dealt with on their own, as pointed out repeatedly trying to reject the car because you now claim you disagree with the nox emissions is of no benefit.

Lol my days of reading the daily mail are behind me and I may have a lot of hate for VW at the moment but that’s only because of the amount of time I have spent in their garage waiting room.
It really doesn’t matter if it’s a pathetic point I am picking up on the facts remain the same they designed the cars to be misleading and intentionally fool the emissions testers and consumers alike.0 -

Yes, you're right - the facts do remain the same and you're not going to get out of a finance deal because the nox emissions aren't what you thought they were, just about every manufacturer out there is fooling emissions testers and consumers alike as VW are well down the list for the worst offenders for being well over the nox limit they were certified against.
