When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym .
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free.
Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending. :money:

Hey everyone
Hope you are all doing well this fine Monday morning.
Big hugs to those who need them - just remember that with this thread you are never on your own and we are always there cheering you on. :grouphug:
Brrrr, it's chilly outside - cars are frozen for the first time since the summer. I looked out my kiwi sheepskins (much better and cheaper than the other popular brand imho), have my hat and gloves at the ready and I am ready for the walk to the tram.
Here's me:- Found something for today's lunch in the deep recesses of the cupboard
- Bit of voluntary work on lunch break
- Call energy folk - online a/c says I only have gas when I know they supply the electricity too...
- Washing on airers etc - not in a rush for it so not going in the TD
- OH has a new client today :T
I only got 4 at yoga last night (had 8 last week) so that was a bit rubbish.
Happy Monday everyone!
Have a free coffee on me :coffee: :coffee: :coffee:0 - Found something for today's lunch in the deep recesses of the cupboard

Morning Monday Savers,
Oooh, chilly start. Car frozen again today. Just had a huge coffee in my new very lovely Christmas mug. Today's money saving bits of the list:
*Laundry done overnight on cheap tariff. Will put heated airer on overnight plus run another cheap load.
*Energy meters read.
*Make tomorrow's packed lunch.
*Do rubber chicken. Plenty left so cold chicken, salad & jackets tonight, stew tomorrow, a couple of packed lunches & some slow cooker stock will easily be achieved.
*Knit presents. Will cast on Dad's sleeve & mr f's hiking sock (new pattern I haven't tried before).
*Print docs for tonight's meeting using clean-on-one -side A4 paper.
*Soak labels off recycled glass bottles ready for bottling my fruit gin this week.
*Enter competition.
That will be it, today. Am also planning to put a colour on my grimly depressing roots & that's a job which always ends up taking longer than I think it will.
Have a good start to the week, all & if it does go t*ts up, just start the week again tomorrow.

Oh, & had better crunch down to the veggie garden to cut more lettuce or there won't be any salad.

Morning all xx
Sorry for not checking in yesterday, it was a manic weekend. We are having more flooring laid today so the house was tipped uoside down over the weekend to clear to main rooms for it. It's going to be a busy week this week with flooring and electrics being done plus fitting bathrooms so that we can get the plumbing and rads sorted in the newly built bit. I'll be so glad when this all settles down
We also had a cheeky takeaway and bought some snacks in to have at my folks' house over the weekend. Did a little bit more Christmas shopping (including using the Amazon voucher I had) and gave in and bought myself a coat for winter as mine was falling apart. At the same time we got Mr Shortie a hat and gloves, as well as spares for the kids
My turn for team milk this week (as I forgot my purse last week, whoops) and I don't have lunch sorted so I'll grab a £3 meal deal from Mr T when I get the milk
I did have toast for breakfast but am already hungry again :eek:April 2021 Grocery Challenge 34.29 / 2500 -

Morning all, thanks for starting La E
Very cold start here this morning and I had to scrape the car - I must remember to dig out my gloves this evening!
NSD today and all meals from stores. I had a spendy weekend as poochy had to go to the vet to get a certain gland emptied (anyone with a dog will know what I mean!). We've started her on different dog food which also happens to be more expensive but it's better for her. I might ask Santa for a dog recipe book so I can cook her nutritious meals for less money! She did seem to love the new food though - even I thought it looked and smelled quite appetising!
Banking to check and spending diary to update. There is £15 left in the food budget and about £7.50 left in my bank account until Friday. Apart from milk there shouldn't be anything I need to buy so I'm going to set myself a challenge of leaving this relatively untouched for the week :T
Surveys and FPL to do. I'm also due a £12 refund for an event I didn't go to at the weekend (I felt too poorly) so will chase that.
Finalise budget for December once my payslip is available.
Remain cheerful - Christmas is just around the corner! :xmastree:

Hi all
Had a fabulous 10 days mixing up days with family and work.
Colossal wash in process and otherwise a duvet day as I am completely exhausted.
Work tomorrow.
Spent too much in all departments but sometimes it is so worth it!
