    Debt-free and Proud!
Ok so an expensive month, but all expected and not 'frivolous' as such. At least they are all on there in one go.
Get news about the extra shifts, keep going like that and you'll have loads paid off the debts before you know it. :j
PAYDBX 2016 #55 100% paid! :j Officially bad debt free...don't count my mortgage.
Now to start saving...it's a whole new world!!

Words can not describe how proud I am of my cheerleader Willowpop for becoming debt free. :j:beer::j:beer:
She's my voice of reason whenever I say "WANT IT!" (which happens more often than I would like to admit espically when it comes to lights) speaking of which BHS has went into admin oh when are they going to reduce the light section so I can get my star, lighting bolt, love heart funfair lights?!?! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
She's always there to say "Really Megano? Really?"

Seen a belter of a pair of shoes metallic purple with LED lights on the bottom being sold at Schuh with a sparkling price of £119 :eek::eek: . Why is it just now when Im trying to become debt free do all these cool things become available. Dont even get me started on the lamps on not on the high street I think I mentally spent about £300 (A lamp and a table in one?! Dear god I NEED it!) before I go cry myself to sleep in a dark corner. Just wanted to report the payment of £50 to HMRC meaning Im just a fine hair away from being £40 I was going to pay £30 towards the OD but then I remembered I have the CC bill for next month. Oh well onwards and upwards.

Okay the CC statement gave me a massive case of "the fear" so Im back on track and ready to roll.
I even managed to do a shift swap with someone in W1 today which meant I could do W2 in the morning.
I think I may have found a new PT job which will allow me to keep W1 and W2 without interfering - basically its a cleaners job in the city centre 5am until 7am (earliest I ever start at W1 is 8) or I've found another work from home call center job which is open until midnight 7 days a week - flexible working as long as I do 15 hours. Part of me is like awesome more work - more money - less time paying of debts but then again the other part of me is like Megano to do you really want to be working 3 jobs? Yeah you have a goal but your going to crash and burn.
Anyway the cleaners job I found on gumtree so Im not holding my breath (does anyone really get a job from gumtree?)
Just need to get my work lunch spending under control. I use to make sandwiches but I always ate them on my first break and was then starving by lunch but I think Im going to try and make a MASSIVE pot of soup and portion it off. We have enough Tupperware tubs to build a fort thanks to old-fm *god I miss her*
Now the only time I cooked soup before it turned out a disaster it was basically a stock cube with raw vegetables. Can anyone give me an idiots guide how to make tomato and pepper soup for 5 portions?
Speaking about old-fm its her birthday in a couple of weeks so OH and I have got her some nice goodies (£25 quid each! - a bottle raspberry flavoured gin and a bumble bee necklace)
With the CC so large I may not be able to pay anything off the OD this month but Im still confident I'll be debt free before Christmas

So after posting I got a job from the cleaners job offering me the post however after thinking it through I decided not to take it up and after taking it through with OH, mum, W1 husband, old fm, bestie and "respectful cousin" I think I made the right choice (I would love to quote everything they said it was very much like are you out of you*&^%£!* mind?!?! You work two *&^%(*& jobs already!)
Yes some people might be thinking Ive not had my "LBM". Some folk will think Ive made a stupid decision. Some folk will even call me irresponsible. The fact of the matter is this is my journey. Ive set myself a target and I'm well in track for completing it.

Hi Megano! I've been reading your diary, and I have to say I love your writing style :rotfl:

Anyway, just wanted to say re: the third job - I think you made absolutely the right decision. You are making positive steps to get where you want to get already, why burn yourself out in the process!? You still need to have "you" time and I think 2 jobs is enough :A

About the 3rd job part of me is still kicking myself about not going for it - after all it would have been at least an extra £230 a month which would have been an extra 7% paid off my debt every month but then the other part of me is realizing that it was me that set the target to be debt free by the end of the year. I don't have folk calling or pounding down my door I lead a really comfy lifestyle so even if I'm not debt free in 2016 is it really that big a deal? Will the world cease to exist as I know it?

Was working as W2 today and the internet went down so my 2 hour shift turned into a 40 minute one speaking of W2 OH has started marking exam papers which means he needs the computer which means I may not be able to do anything at W2. We are thinking of getting a new laptop that way (a) I can continue to work when things like this happen (b) I can work when I go back home (c) OH can use it for school stuff in the meantime however OH's school was throwing out notebooks :eek::eek: and they said OH can have one free of charge they just need to remove the schools software so we might not need a laptop after all! :money::j:beer::money:

When I first started my debt free journey I asked TSB for a consolidation loan and they were like nope! no way! not happening! beat it! today I come home to a letter "Miss Megano as a valued customer we would love to offer you a loan" I was going to tell them to bolt then I realized I could move my high CC bill (remember the balance was high as it was the hotel for OH's birthday and mum's birthday present and other random bits and bobs?) onto a 0% CC for 22 months meaning the only thing Im paying interest on is the OD!

Got my extra income today. Phoned TSB to reduce the overdraft (honestly why dont they let you do it online?) and the department is closed (again):mad::mad::mad:

Just read this crazy article on yahoo about a newly wed couple sent an email to a guest saying there gift of a £100 cheque wasnt enough! Apparently it said.
"“We were surprised that your contribution didn’t seem to match the warmth of your good wishes on our big day. In view of your own position, if you wanted to send any adjustment it would be thankfully received""
If someone offered me 100 pence right now I would be happy!

It's worse than that megano - it was because the guest had recently come into an inheritance! How ridiculous is that? Publishing it is pretty good revenge.

I think as long as you try not to have any more big splurges you can do it! Credit card yes loan no. Go for virgin or Tesco so you can do a money transfer for the overdraft. Bam one creditor. Plus move your banking and get £100 and bank with someone who has decent opening hours :) xxx

Since I started my debt free journey every month I was saying "I must cancel my gym membership" but never got round to it. Well today all that changed when I made the call saving myself £23 per month. Only downside is I had to give 30 days notice, but still. I think myself and the beast have parted ways basically I was cancelling sessions on him because I had to work or I got an acute dosage of the icantbebothered virus. Which is ashame because he's a great trainer and I can honestly say its not him its me. Patience is not a virtue I have basically if I want something done I expected it done last week and when I don't see the results I want I go all rebellious and frustrated which leads to me undoing all my good work (you have have noticed from previous posts) anyway enough about my character flaws (so so so many)

Phoned SKY to do the whole "my bills have went up" "Im thinking of leaving" speach and it turns out Im on the cheapest package until my broadband contract runs out on the 26th August which is where things get interesting.
W1 is a telecommunications company offering free ADSL broadband (you have to pay your line rental which is £16.99 per month) and a free SIM card with unlimited minutes, texts and 20GB of data.
My only concern with changing is I have a lifetime discount of 30% with EE and if I port my number to W1 network I'll never get that discount again as for the SIM card that will remain FOC until the contract is up. Don't get me wrong I like W1 and planning on staying I just dont see myself offering to make a campsite under my desk, living out my days in the office being buried by the photocopier.

Little sneeky payment of £60 towards the overdraft today and £5 towards the CC balance. taking me right up to 40% (no point reworking my debt amount is due to the 0% interest Im paying. Plus it will be cleared before 2016 anyway) It will be so good when all my wages are mine!

So over the past couple of weeks I may have went a little crazy with the spending in terms of stuff for the house. When I try to justify it I come up with the normal excuses "its an investment" "its for the house" but honestly I seen it I wanted it so I bought it. (like God Megan who pays £150 a table which doubles as a light for the living room) *it is fantastic though* ^but still^<no but>
So even though Im back on track of clearing my debts Im now officially back on the express train (kind got off and went on the scenic route for a while.)

There has been a couple of changes in the budget which is going to be affecting outgoings
    - the beast is back in touch which means £120 per month (expensive yes but worth it)
    - we are also changing our broadband provider from ADSL to fibre so its going to be more expensive but again it will be worth it because it will be a more reliable connection for W2.

Today at W1 someone was talking about how her friend works for BUPA at home and books her hours online but I never managed to get the balls to ask how to apply. I also texted the cleaning job women apparently the job has already be filled but she said she would keep a hold of my details as if a job becomes available she'll let me know.

So having a look at Martin's email today and he suggested a money transfer to a credit card to pay off an overdraft and I was thinking of applying for the MBNA one (apparently there is a 0% chance of me getting the virgin money one) but Im kinda wondering if it will be worth it
    - say for example I get 22 months 0% interest free. Yes I would be able to DRAMATICALLY reduce my repayments and spread the cost but I would still be in debt but I wouldnt be paying any interest and with that I would be able to start saving for a forever home as ALL my debts would be on 0%
I think Ive just answered my own question.....

So just applied for the MBNA credit card and apparently the only limit they can give me is £500 which taking into account the balance transfer fee will be less than 1/3rd.
Still trying to figure out if this is a good or bad thing
