confused in new laptop purchase

i actually am quite thick sometimes so i do apologise but, youre saying i definitely only put a 4gb ram in the one free slot to upgrade it to the overall allowed 8gb?

but, do i do this before i actually set the laptop up for the first time or do i set it up and get it started before i do it?

oh and is the ram i linked compatible? thanks

RAM can be added at any time, compatible memory is 4GB 1600mhz, 1.35v SODIMM DDR3L
