aaaaaaarghghg i think too much
The acer has an older and slower processor than the ASUS.Science isn't exact, it's only confidence within limits.0 -
thanks, so you reckon that is definitely the best way to go unless there becomes an amazing deal on amazon for black friday? thanks, oh and is that the correct ram for the laptop? it will work and not cause issues? thanks0

I'd expect to get an I3 5th generation CPU based laptop for less than £300, that's what the i3-4xxx (4th gen) or i3-5xxx (5th gen) means.
You might get a good deal on something from Amazon on friday and it might be worth waiting, it's up to you.Science isn't exact, it's only confidence within limits.0 -

Takes 2 minutes and you can't really mess it up.
I was looking at laptops in Currys and none of them had a panel for ram upgrade or hard drive upgrade you have to take the laptop apart. This seems to be a feature that the manufacturers are dropping they obviously want to stop people from upgrading and favour you buy a new machine instead.0 -
well the one im holding out for has gone up to £319 now overnight, was £285 last night meh........ still waiting for black friday to see what comes up ... thanks for all your help... x0

just browsing and found this - but, not sure? is lenovo a good buy? http://www.amazon.co.uk/Lenovo-G50-70-15-6-Inch-Notebook-Black/dp/B00S6DPAGM/ref=sr_1_32?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1448108376&sr=1-32&keywords=8gb+ram+laptop0

If you can consider refurbished, look at this Lenovo t420 i5, 8Gb and 128Gb SSD, free upgrade to WIndows 10, £270. These business grade laptops are tough as old boots.
All things being equal, I'd take an SSD over an upgrade to 8Gb of RAM to improve performance.

Much poorer graphics performance than that of the i3-5005U, remember one of the requirements is to be able to run SIMS 4, the i5-2520M is barely a CPU faster than the i3-5005U and is a 35W cpu as opposed to 15W resulting in a shorter battery life.Science isn't exact, it's only confidence within limits.0 -
sorry for being thick but is 128gb higher than 1tb?...... also, how long are refurbished guaranteed for as im a bit dubious of something preowned......
so, you reckon the lenovo one ive linked would be a nono?
thanks0 -
