to put ram in now you have to take the keyboard out and a lot more to put more ram in.:rotfl: given up on tesco do a lot os boots offers. but weekends are now in orange trackside b. lol

I've actually upgraded the Asus X555LA to 8GB and it does have a panel for RAM module access, see page 94-97.

I bought one of these a couple of months ago, and it's a great machine.

Argos on eBay have other good bargains as well."There are not enough superlatives in the English language to describe a 'Princess Coronation' locomotive in full cry. We shall never see their like again". O S Nock0 -

Agreed better pricing from elsewhere, however from the OP:I need to buy from amazon as i have the money in vouchers.....Science isn't exact, it's only confidence within limits.0 -
thanks everyone again, fightsback - what do you reckon on the machine then? a good buy?
thanks x
couple of questions - is the extra ram i have linked compatible? and also, do i need to set up the laptop before adding the extra ram or should i do that before setting it up, ie, straight out of box before first use?
thanks0 -

If Fightsback could confirm that, having upgraded the RAM on the same laptop, it would be quite helpful.
Sigh, once more for those asleep at the back.
This laptop has 4GB board soldered (something getting common on budget laptops) and you can expand it to 8GB using the one FREE RAM module slot giving 4gb occupying the expansion ram slot and 4gb board soldered, i.e. 4gb x 2 = dual channel.
Does this leave anybody as to any doubt how this works ?Science isn't exact, it's only confidence within limits.0 -

A failure to read the link to the manual posted earlier compounded with a failure to read the warning in my signature.
Sorry I replied, I didn't realise you were so lazy.Science isn't exact, it's only confidence within limits.0
