I can't believe how 'easy' I'm finding this so far - it's out of sight out of mind and I'm not missing the odd bit of change here and there. I'll certainly be happy come ChristmasNot giving up

OMG - you now have me tempted to go for £2 per day. I am finding £1 per day really easy.
I'm going to try it for a week or so and see how I get on. I am not officially moving to £2 per day.....just yetDFW Nerd No. 1484 LBM 07/01/15 Debt was £95k  Now debt free and happy :j0 -

Oooh it's nice to be a motivator, good luck!
I do mine a bit differently, by counting all my freebies: boots advantage, tesco and nectar, top cash back, pinecone surveys and £2 coins, so apart from the coins Xmas is free0 -
#88 reporting: I started on Monday and I'm on-track with a whopping
£4
saved into my Roland Rat-bank! Roll on pay day on Friday when I can add in money for the prev month and get on track :T
Who knows why it's so much easier to put money into a tin than it is to save in a bank but it's really helping me to think about the money I spend thoughtlessly in vending machines etc.Goal: Debt-free by 01.12.16
LET'S DO THIS!

Well I got a very unexpected cheque today for £184 from the AI Scheme (Martin has a page about it). I honestly never knew I had any of this AI card insurance but as they wrote to me I filled the form in, used the wording on this site as to why I thought I had been mis-sold it, and sent it off. Cheque received today so I have used some of this to make my pot up to £2 per day from 1st December. I've transferred the money to a savings account set up for this challenge and I covered all the £2's through to 31 January. So I have a very healthy £124:j:j in the account.
So pleased....thank you for creating these motivational challenges, which are also achievable. Loving it :T:T:T:TDFW Nerd No. 1484 LBM 07/01/15 Debt was £95k  Now debt free and happy :j0 -
I'm back at £0 at the moment, once I get OH monthly contribution I will put back December's £31 and then when I get paid I'll stick in January's dosh and then I think I'll be back on track, skint at the moment though
but on a plus I have got my new car

That's why I love this challenge, it doesn't take a lot of effort and it takes the stress out of funding Christmas;)

The first year I did this challenge I saved a £1 a day and found that I soon got into the habit so last year I upped my amount per day to £2 and if I had a few pounds extra I would chuck them into my tin. When I opened my tins in 2015 I found I had saved £858 which paid for all my Christmas presents and food and I didn't have any of the stress wondering how I would pay for it all;)
