Thanks Spunky.
The reason I ask is because e2save have a 'pricematch, cashback, clearance' offer on a SE K810i, which OH fancies. I've not found it on any of the sites that are supposedly 'more' reputable and wondered.
The thing is, I've never done any of these in the past - the clearance offers put me off too, so to be honest I'm sitting in the camp 'if it sounds too good - it is', but I don't want to walk away from a bargain through ignorance.
I've got myself an N95, bargained direct with Vodafone and pay a reasonable price for more minutes than I ever use each month - but OH only uses the phone when he's walking the dog or out shopping - so there's no point in him spending lots - in the past he's just had my castoffs, but now he wants something new with a decent camera????0 -
I don't know why people get cashback nowadays. Most networks realise that people are so fed up of been scammed that they won't go for it. The company supposed to pay me and my partners cashback went out of business after the first payment, losing us hundreds. Anyway, the point is if you don't mind 3 Network, wich me and my partner have been with approx 3 years then there is a great deal on their site. It is 500 mins for £15 no texts (you can still send, but have to pay) or other good offers. If you have a friend on 3, get them to recommend you on the site and you get £30 and so do they. You will also get a free bluetooth if you mention one, which they will give you a code for.:j
By the way, great cameras on the phones offeredBe thankful for what you have because it could all be taken away tomorrow.;)

Sadly live in the country with no reception - only Vodaphone, Orange and 02 can be considered - and 02 is a bit iffy!0 -
Cash-back deals are known to be troublesome. They have very strict terms and conditions and companies are known for looking for reasons to reject your claim. They rely on people forgetting to claim/rejecting claims – if they paid all claims they would go out of business. Lots of companies do go out of business as well, meaning your cash-back deal is not worth the paper it’s written on.
If you take a cash-back deal you have got to accept the high risk involved as you can’t completely trust any of these companies.
You’ve been warned!0 -

Hi
We have a lot of contracts with E2save and carphonewarehouse over the years
So far there has been a few problems with the cashbacks on both clearance and price matches.
All I can say is just follow the tcs by the letter and 90% of the time u will be ok.
I just bought a new contract for my son in May2007 and this has newtcs, and toa new claims address...so we shall see as there are many ppl having a few problems trying to figure out the exact claim dates and when u ask E2save they themselves do not know exactly...
So in Oct 2007...according to my reckoning we shall see.0 -
So far had no problems with E2save or Carphonewarehouse, had about 5 or 6 contracts over the past 3 years. I do make sure I keep the bills and have a chart to highlight the cashback months. Have to say you have to read the terms carefully as the bill and month can be different.
However they dont seem to be doing as good a deal as others anymore. This could be a good thing as I dont think any company can give away things for free and stay in business. But I am sure there are other factors involved. I think you should look on Cashback as being a bonus and not rely on it.:j0 -
Finished a 1 year contract with Onestopphoneshop in April. They paid up, but the T& C's were a bit strict with respect to the time frame for claiming.
Am now on an automatic cashback with CPW, waiting for my first cashback and have been told it could take up to 60 days to come through.Hark at you going all strict

I would guess because they get a free phone and free texts and minutes?

e2save pricematch deals come with a different (and much more onerous) set of conditions to their standard deals.
For example, make a mistake on any of the 5 claims and all of the cashback is lost, not just the one you got wrong, plus they charge you £10 for making the mistake.
And should any claim get lost in the post (even if you use expensive special delivery) they refuse to pay out and will not pay out on any future claims.0
