remind me never to move down there!! i put everything in one bin cos i'm a naughty boy.
I do use my recycling tub though when the lads come round. I put it in the middle of the floor for everybody to throw their cans into.

We have three wheelie bins, one is brown for food and garden waste, one is grey with blue lid for recycling (but no glass)!! and one grey for general household rubbish!! AND we get naughty stickers and no emptying of bin if we happen to put the wrong thing in any of them!! and yes we are not allowed to put bags in any of them. (expect empty ones, which have to go in general household rubbish)!!

You're allowed to put bags in as long as there's not stuff in them? That's just stupid. You obviously have a jobsworth council! You must feel like banging your head off the wall!

    LOL
well u would get lots of naughty stickers down here, and they are bright red so as everyone can see them and almost impossible to get off, so u are singled out for life!!! lol

I thinkin of making some nice behaviour charts for the wheelie bins, in the hope that one day i will get a smily face!!

Do others put bin liners in their wheelie bins?? cos we not allowed to do that either. I paid 8 quid for 6 rolls of treated wheelie bin liners to help keep flys away then realised i couldnt use them!!!

yes its rediculous isnt it!!!! and yes i do feel like banging my head against a brick wall!!!!
A similar thing they did which earned them the jobsworth title was this:
One day along came some road workmen and lowered the kirb by our garden, no idea why, but thought hey thats great cos now i can drive car into the garden to save congestion on road. So we built proper driveway with slabs etc and started using it, was great til we got a letter saying the council have had a report that we ar eparking our car in the front garden which we are not allowed to do!!! I rang them and said 'but you lowered the kirb'(it was a proper driveway opening). They said well yes but that doesnt mean u can use it'!!! told em how stupid that was and that the cars not parked in the garden its parked in the driveway. never heard any more and thats years ago and we still using it. I think they made an error by putting the opening there so not much they could do really!!

But you are allowed to put food waste in the grey bin.

What should I do with food waste?
Any food waste, cooked and uncooked, can be placed in the brown bin, and it will be collected for composting locally. Double wrapping the food waste in newspaper will help stop smells and flies. If you do not want food waste in your brown bin for up to a fortnight, it can also be placed in the grey lidded bin for collection during the other week. This way you will continue to receive a weekly collection of food waste, by placing it in the brown bin on recycling collection week, and in the grey lidded bin on the opposite week

My council follows exactly the same policy. I only use the green bin for the sort of food waste that will not attract flies, such as vegetable peelings (and then wrap them in newspaper). The cooked food waste and raw meat food waste is double bagged and goes in the grey bin for the whole fortnight.

I had to make a slight alteration to your noe to make it more realistic (since councillors seem to be the only people the council listens to).

Its things like this that make me realise why so many people resort to fly tipping.

Laziness .. inconsideration ... don't give a damn about anybody else (not even their own children) etc. etc.
