So basically the OP's concerns are nonsense? As expected, other than the secret research papers that she has, that she does not want to share?

The concerns aren't nonsense, the issue is a psychological one rather than a physical one. There's been no credible scientific experiments that have shown people with electromagnetic hypersensitivity can detect EM emissions in a properly double blind experiments, there were errors in some experiments which weren't properly conducted and those organising the testers knew if the EM emissions were on or off and accidentally passed that onto those taking the test. There's also the simpler fact that if a person was genuinely sensitive to EM emisisons it would be almost entirely impossible to avoid exposure aside from living in a heavily sealed room.

However further testing has shown that while it's not a physical affect, there is clearly a psychological effect in that because people believe the EM emissions are affecting them it does make them feel ill which as someone pointed out earlier is effectively the reverse of a placebo. That's why those that suffer from EHS make themselves feel better by turning off devices under their control even though they're still being exposed to many other EM emissions.

I'd probably look at a Windows tablet with a USB port if I wanted to use a cabled connection, they're available pretty cheap these days and easier to set up and manage the network card although they're not as good as touch only devices but work well for internet browsing and watching videos and pictures.

Any electronic device is going to produce a detectable EMF just by operating. Tablet processors typically run at 1.6GHz up and PCs even higher - certainly at 2.4GHz and beyond.
I think the power is the main factor, not the frequency.
Measures are normally taken to reduce the unintentional emission. That's why, say, many cables have ferrite filters on them.

"Detectable" is meaningless. Radio-telescopes detect EMF coming from remote stars.

    I feel much better

Good. That's the main thing. Tablets are so small precisely because they don't have the mass of connections (and processing power) that laptops have - therefore, you won't get one with ethernet. A laptop/desktop computer might be a better solution.
Or how about a tablet that accepts a 3G/4G SIM card? This would use the mobile network for data, and you can leave WiFi switched off.

Geeze, people. Android tablets have this thing called USB on the go - it is capable of receiving a network connection using the correct, rather cheap, adapter.

It also lets you plug in keyboards, mice and other stuff.

If you want a built-in ethernet port, you'll need to go retro and head for some piece of rubbish like this - http://www.alibaba.com/product-detail/Embedded-WIN-CE-6-0-Touch_1282374252.html?spm=a2700.7724857.29.3.WjR9Lh&s=p

In this case the tablet will emit 3/4g signal that is much more powerful than the signal it receives. I guess much more powerful even than wifi signal because of the big distance and the [STRIKE]cubic[/STRIKE] square law governing the power needed.

Just reading a bit further on the subject - as the OP doesn't seem to want to share any literature ..

A quote from one sufferer : But the pain I’ve suffered is very real. At its worst, it has felt like I’m being tasered inside my mouth.

This sounds terrible and I do hope you don't think me belittling your condition .. Its just that I know for fact that EM emissions at this level do not cause any adverse physical effects PRIMERILLY, But it sounds like the perceived suffering is very real ..

For many years, Ricky says, he was unable to work because of his illness.
‘I’ve tried everything,’ he says. ‘I’ve slept inside a canopy made from fabric to block out the radiation, and painted my house with a graphite paint.
‘I still use a computer for my music, but I don’t have wifi and I sit on the other side of the room from the monitor and use binoculars to see the screen.’

Obviously the power is important but the frequency is too and of course how far away it is. The higher the frequency the more energy each quantum carries. That said to be an ionizing radiation (which would produce physiological effects beyond the psychosomatic ones involved in this thread) you need X-Ray frequencies at the very least and they are many orders of magnitude higher than even 5GHz WiFi.

I run a Raspberry Pi as a WSPR beacon 24x7 - that is routinely heard in the USA and sometimes Australia or Japan. Power < 10mW frequencies used < 30MHz. I don't doubt that the OP is extremely pleased they don't live next door to me.

Trying to argue or worse still mock somebody who is convinced WiFi harms them is a complete and utter waste of time other than to avoid somebody without that conviction deciding it must be true because the OP says it is and doubtless believes it too.

If you worry about the signals from your home wifi you wont want to live near anyone with a microwave.

Little test if your bored, with your pc/laptop or whatever, download something fairly large and use a download manager where you can see a graph with the speed of the download.

Then switch the microwave on and watch the speed plummet. My router and microwave are at opposite corners of the house, but the speed still plummets even if you stand next to the router. The microwave puts out way more EMF than the router ever will.

Scary when you think about it.
