Returning a bike to Argos

But yes I was in no way intending to be rude when returning it, I'll just speak to the manager explain the situation and see what he says then. If he offers to send it off and get it fixed then that's perfect, although a little inconvenient.

Your rights depend on whether the bike is faulty, or just a bit wobbly and rubbish.
It not being a good bike doesn't mean it's faulty or not fit for purpose.0 -
Your ability to get a refund is fully dependent on how long this 'Scottish weather' prefended you assembling it. A week? No problem. A fortnight? Well the weather might have conspired a bit. Over a month? Not a chance! That really is taking the proverbial. You appear to expect Argos to dispence with thei 30 day policy because you were a bit tardy in checking it all out. I don't believe you have rights over and above you having to prove the bike is unsafe - in which case, you go to trading standards.0

Has the new Consumer Rights Act dispensed with the 6 months burden of proof requirement from SOGA?0

This requires an 'inherent fault' this would have affected all those identical bikes with the same catalogue number. This might generate an offer of a replacement item of better quality, but not a refund.
The real issue is the delay in complaining the item was not suitible.0 -
Was there any warnings about having the bike assembled by a professional?0

What?? The OP bought the bike four days ago.
That's exactly what I was just about to say, iv had the bike 4 days! I assembled it on day 1, test rode it on day 3 and stopped riding it on day 3. I wouldn't mind a replacement at all because iv already bought extra bits for it (lights, mud guards and pump).
But I don't fully understand this new consumer act 2015 which is mainly what my post was aimed at.
And in response to the person asking if it had to be assembled by an expert, no, there's nothing on the instructions or the box saying anything of the sort.
Thanks0 -

I only ask because they usually say something along those lines.
It's for safety reasons as well as to kerb the amount of people with little knowledge having a go at getting it wrong0
