Which flagship android phone to buy?

Hello there. I'm after some advice, because I'm ridiculously indecisive over this.
I am looking to buy a sim free smartphone outright. I find Apple products to be a bit locked down for my liking, so am going for Android again. I have no luck with Samsung phones so they're out. The ones I'm looking at are
Sony xperia z5 (full size or compact?)
Sony xperia z3 (full size or compact)
LG G4.
Obviously the Z5 is the much, much pricier option and the G4 and Z3 are priced similarly.
I also have an invitation to purchase the One Plus X, but I don't know if I want that one.
I've examined the specs for them and there's really not much in it, and I suspect it comes down to user preference. I've played with them both in the shop as much as you can, but it doesn't demonstrate on a day to day basis. I liked them all for different reasons.
Has anyone used any of these? Are they any good? What are the good/bad things? Would you buy again if you had to make the choice?
TIA.

What about the new Nexus 5X, pure Google Android with no crap factory Apps installed.
In 16Gb & 32Gb
Runs Android 6 Marshmallow and the first phone to get ongoing Android updates

But really if you need advice on what to choose then non of them .0 -
The z5 premium is out in the next few days and after looking at loads of phones lately that's my choice, I also find the money supermarket website to be the best comparison site by a long way !0

The Z3 is a great phone. I've got a benchmarking app and the Galaxy S6 only just beats it in terms of performance.Friendship is like peeing on yourself. Everyone can see it, but only you can feel the warm feeling that it brings0

Buying Sim free the LG G4 is really good value0

I had a One Plus X invite on the release dayand held on for as long as possible to get feedback from those who actually had one. What became apparent early on, and discouraged me from buying, were issues re the sd card not being recognised and initial concerns re the camera.
The general impression I got was that the phone looked very impressive on the outside but had mediocre internals. Yes, the sub £200 price is attractive but if you want a phone with the latest processor and bells and whistles then look elsewhere (but you will have to pay more)
Here's a link to the Gizmodo review and to save you scrolling to the bottom straight away, it was a don't buy.

The new LG V10 looks a beast of a phone, but won't be available in the UK for a few weeks...

Being as tight as duck's a$se, I never waste money on THE very latest, but good value, checked to perform perfectly product. I'd recommend

I'm in the same position, Z5, S6 or Nexus 6P I've looked at. The 6P looks a great phone but is enormous!
I know the S6 hasn't got the battery stamina or expandable memory of the Z5, but you can get it for £100-150 less sim-free, which is very tempting!
Codemonkey, what put you off the Samsung phones?0
