Ok, PM sent with the email address.

Didn't want to leave it in the forum to pick up spam, so removed it, sorry about that :)

can someone give me the email addy or address for the BT Chief Exec. Ben Verwaayen please

A google search will find it, I know it but tend to not give it out untill someone has tried everything else to get a problem sorted.
  • This is my first post so Hello All! I am in a similar situation with BT at the moment so Clancy I feel your pain.

BT persuaded me to stay after my previous contract expired by promising me BT Vision Vision Free of charge. To cut a long and stressful (for me!) story short I ended-up taking 2 days holiday to sit around waiting for an engineer to come and install it. On both days no engineer arrived and also I did not receive any courtesy calls. I wish now that I had changed providers and I am desperately trying to get out of my contract.

I lodged a formal complaint via their email facility on 12th July. Seconds later I received an automated email reply saying my complaint should be resolved within 24 hours....tic toc I'm still waiting.

Clancy I am interested to see how your situation pans out. Hopefully we can both update this thread when\if we get a satisfactory result. It could be useful to others forum users.

sorry to hear that your also being treated like rubbish from BT. I have sent 2 email complaints to get a reply saying we are very busy if you still need our help reply marking it urgent in the subject box, so i did, still no reply.
I also sent a letter to Gillian ?? that i was given in a above post, on tuesday and emailed the letter to complains dept, still nothing from no one.. but there was no problem with them setting my DD up and taking my money today..
i will give it till end of next week then i will email cheif ex and if still nothing im going to oftel..
will defo keep you posted of the outcome. im so fed up with BT now i remember why when i moved in this property i never choose them as my provider, thought after 7 yrs things might have changed, but sadly NO

Surprise Surprise i have just had a phone call from the complaints department, the lady said she will either sort out my problems with the broadband or allow me to terminate my contract without me being charged. i said i want to leave BT for my broadband and she is arranging it. so thank you people for your advice regarding contacting Ben Verwaayen it worked straight away... funny thing was i had a email from carphone warehouse today saying i could join AOL and recieve a free laptop, so decided to do that...

  • Well done Clancy, i'm very pleased for you :)
Interesting that you had no reply to your complaint through the normal channels, but it goes to show that there are decent people within BT (i've never doubted it) but they are most likely overwhelmed.
This is a victory for fairness, well done BT!
Nice that they offered you a choice of options.
So good luck with your next ISP

p.s. be sure to check the length of the contract :)

by the way, you're sure you want to cancel the ADSL and not ask for a MAC, so you can migrate elsewhere?
