Just after a second or third terrorist event when even both our PM and their president is telling people to stay in their homes because the terrorists are saying this is just the beginning.

Please OP, don't follow this advice.

Don't be daft - people were told to stay in their homes while the atrocities were going on, not now!

Schools, universities, shops and tourist attractions are generally open and people are going about their lives normally, both tourists and the Parisiens themselves.

Perhaps you should read this article -

I think you'll only be covered for your euro Disney tickets. Doubt they will cover you for anything else. It's a tragic event but your travel and hotel has been unaffected and all that has happened is that an amusement park is shut. Technically you've received the travel and hotel you've paid for with no issue.

Oh please. Op booked a trip to disneyland paris, not a tour of a hotel. The hotel and flight are merely part of the overall service.

Actually (unless I've missed it) we don't know that this is the case - the individual components may have been booked separately.

Could you please point out where OP states this was booked as a package?

I think they drove to Paris which would indicate that they didn't buy a package deal. This is based on the fact they seem quite flexible with their dates e.g. they went home a day early (that is difficult to do if you fly somewhere)

Its just an educated guess though so you may be right and they did book a package deal.

You can book packages taking your car but s/he could equally have organised the whole trip independently. Hopefully the family will be enjoying their holiday somewhere, even if it's not chez Disney.

Travel Policies don't tend to have a section for Force Majeure / Act of God.
And, despite what the terrorists might believe, I think most of us, whatever our personal faith or lack thereof, would not consider what they do to constitute an Act of God.
