Sky deal - what can I expect?

Options
Considering returning to Sky.

Used their on-line chat, wasted 10 minuets of my life before giving up.

I provided my account number however they wanted name, address, post code and was I the main account holder.

Further info sought was bank account linked to the dormant Sky account. I'm not at home at this point and explained this info wasn't available to me but chat operator was fixated on obtaining this - I gave up.

All I wanted was an idea of what sort of offer they could make.

Anyone in a position to share what I may expect before picking up the phone to them?

(I'm minded to not return to this mob however the wife is bending my ear for movies)

I've never been with Sky but I understand if you've been away for more than 12 months, you're considered a new customer.

I've been looking into it and these "black Friday" deals don't seem like the great deals they are.

The basic package is £20 per month plus an LG TV or a £100 reward. Turns out the reward is an Amazon gift voucher.

After digging further, turns out you can get it for £13.40 per month (goes to £20 after 12 months) without taking any deals - that makes the TV actually cost £79.

If you actually want a cheap LG TV, it's a good deal, but from a money saving point of view, seems to make sense to go for the £13.40 per month?

Might be true or not .
Jeremy Darroch, Sky’s Chief Executive, has hinted that Sky may be increasing their prices once again, citing the need to raise costs to pay for more original content. It’s assumed this will be TV only packages but there is potential Sports Packages could be affected. Sky is feeling the pressure from services such as Amazon and Netflix who offer on demand boxsets and more and more original content.

Surely the price increases are more to do with paying £4bn for football rights?

If anyone's interested, I pushed them further and I've just got it for £10 per month for the first 12 months (£20 after that) and a £25 Tesco voucher.

ie 50% off for 12 months, then cancel and re-negotiate.

Sky usually have phone increases about this time of year and tv increases in the summer. If they are proposing two rises or one large one earlier, then I won't be renewing my tv next time (have 50% off at the moment).

We have been with them for a year, (just to get a box for France) so I rang to say I was leaving and got a deal for £30.12 a month, line rental, unlimited BB, basic TV package.
    So start from there.

I have the same, plus Anytime Extra calls effectively for £22.13 when considering the £50 credit.

Yes, forgot to say anytime calls as well. Strange thing is that the TV deal is for 12 months and the BB for 10 months! Or maybe the other way round, anyway I will mark the new calendar to ring them again in 10 months!
