Really think gift cards/ vouchers the way to go with younger family members, had so many presents rejected in the past even though I may have paid £££££s so money and the G/V s takes away the stress and the worry for me and they are happy .
Still buy small stocking stuffers ie. bottle of good wine or vodka.
Have to say DD2 happy with anything or nothing :A no two children alike !!0 -

Only the codes from the code board £15 no min spend one, and free delivery one. (but of course it's already free)
Didn't you say you have already used code on your account though.I was looking for some nice French wine for Mr TS and there is one for £27 at the moment. Need I say anymore.
Although I still have not ordered somehow I think paying so little might look a bit suspect. :rotfl:0 -
:rotfl:I'm doing well on the wombles (although not as well as zippy:p:D) as I've just got another over £5, this time from a couple of receipts. Now is definitely the time to be wombling as they aren't 10% cheaper for me at all, generally vs T and M, they are largely price-matched and the stores vying out with offers in the run-up to Christmas to try and capture the all-important market. Things are being helped by what must be a coinciding between the offers (same ones at the rivals) together with a few good prices on some popular items at competitors.
Clearly these receipts are now coming to light from the windy weekend, as both of the ones today are from Saturday (I didn't find any others). I got one that bought the Tuc Crackers:
Vs M
1x Tuc Original Cracker (150G) £1.29 £0.50:j
However, :(I don't benefit from the full of that comp. as they also put Walkers Crisps at £1.00 (:mad:not a good idea vs Morries!:p) into the basket. The comp. therefore came out best vs T. I thought they might have ruined it somewhat because of the Pepsi 2L - I couldn't remember if they were £1 in M last week or only went onto that yesterday as £1 pricing for that doesn't interest me - I was therefore originally going to wait before checking the receipt, in the hope of getting new pricing data, however I then noticed the receipt was from Saturday so would always be locked on last Wednesday's price information.
However, vs M they are not ruining wombles:
2x Pepsi Regular Bottle (2LT) £2.00 £2.00:)
So, M comp. comes up slightly 'worse' (a voucher would have been 80p less than vs T) and the T comp. 'wins' despite this:
Vs T
1x Pepsi Max Cherry Cans (8X330) £2.00 £3.50:(
How much better that would have been without that item. Or if they had not in effect mixed up their shop and had split their trolley. Of course I would want those cans but on a separate M comp. shop:rotfl:.
Vs M (and vs T)
2x Patersons Shortbread Fingers (380G) £1.50 £1.50
No glitch anymore. But at least it benefits, as part of the overall comp., as best was vs T - or, maybe, it mitigates as :(the shop was cheapest at A so got offset elsewhere that, to the value of more than 15p, meant they may as well not have bought any items giving 15p in 10% or the Shortbread Fingers at all. It's as if the positive and negative items weren't there at all on the shopping when they cancel each other out. They may as well not have been.
Just looking to figure out why the T comp. was better despite that difference on the Tuc Crackers. It is however only 80p difference between the two comps. I was thinking of getting some more Tuc Crackers myself a couple of days ago but then decided I'd only be paying £1.29 more in order to get back to paying 45p more so would still be spending more on the shop than I needed to. I shall not be buying them now: I managed to pick up an equivalent own brand version, of 200g not 150g, on a store-specific RTC in M at 25p so that is a lot better than the Tuc Crackers offer! I also got some 6 pack Walkers Crisps at 50p (:(I now see some crisps may be going on in Lidl at 39p so I've overpaid yet again).
These make the M comp. 'worse' than the T comp.:
2x Tunnocks Milk Chocolate Tea Cakes (6X24G) £2.00 £2.00
2x Ye Olde Oak Hot Dogs in Brine (400G) £1.56 £1.56
They compare better vs T.
1x Walkers Roast Chicken Crisps (6X25G) £1.00 £1.50:(
1x ASDA Clementine Juice (1L) £1.00 £1.34
Mix and match A mbuy:(. (Also loses but less so vs T.)
1x Mr Kipling Cherry Bakewells (6PK) £0.95 £1.50:(
1x Walkers Cheese & Onion Crisps (6X25G) £1.00 £1.50:mad:
1x Bucks Fizz and 2x Lessiter's Milk Chocolate Champagne Truffles (EACH) £3.50 N/A
1x ASDA Chosen by You Strawberry Trifle (600G) £2.00 £2.50:(
However (also vs M):
1x Haribo Tangy Minions Sweets (150G) £0.79 £0.50
You don't need them! They are still quite expensive - I would be looking at 190g or 230g:D for that much cost.
Vs T
2x Tunnocks Milk Chocolate Tea Cakes (6X24G) £2.00 £1.62
2x Patersons Shortbread Fingers (380G) £1.50 £1.50
1x Walkers Roast Chicken Crisps (6X25G) £1.00 £1.00
2x Pepsi Regular Bottle (2LT) £2.00 £1.98
2x Ye Olde Oak Hot Dogs in Brine (400G) £1.56 £1.00
1x Tuc Original Cracker (150G) £1.29 £1.00 (not as good)
1x Walkers Cheese & Onion Crisps (6X25G) £1.00 £1.00
1x Bucks Fizz and 2x Lessiter's Milk Chocolate Champagne Truffles (EACH) £3.50 £3.00
1x ASDA Chosen by You Strawberry Trifle (600G) £2.00 £2.00
:rotfl:I noticed they made £3.18 of "mbuy savings" - apart from the fact that the Colman's packets that they got at 2 for £1 go down to straight 50p sometimes so no saving at all there. Not that I want them to buy at 50p, as they are invariably 74p or 79p for one elsewhere when they do that. I got £1.00 vs £1.00 (straight 50p price at T - so no need to buy two, would have been slightly better if they had not got that A mbuy at all). So, I notice £3.18 mbuy savings. However, they did not save at all, as the APG is also for £3.18 so, by failing to check the APG themselves on their shop, they lost exactly all of their 'saving':rotfl:. Thus, taking their shopping bill and the resultant APG together (the latter of which they do not get), they might as well have paid at full prices without any "mbuy savings" at all.0 -
