Poor lad.
If they are well known, it does raise the question of why the shopping centre has allowed them onto their premises.
yes usually there is like a community watch system between the various security guards and you can here on their walkie talkies (?) descriptions of people they are watching as they go between shops
and known gangs are barred from shopping centres
shopping centres are so stressful now I avoid if I can - order online, click and collect and I get in and out ASAP“Create all the happiness you are able to create; remove all the misery you are able to remove. Every day will allow you, --will invite you to add something to the pleasure of others, --or to diminish something of their pains.”0 -

I know the feeling, I hate shopping. Luckily my mum loved shopping, so when the kids were young I would give her a list and the money and leave her to it........whether this was for clothes, household or food.
But now I go in Asda so many times it is :eek::eek::eek: I think the Elite cured me on the food shopping avoidance.... and the rest I can get on line now!! x100 -
if it was me I would find the Facebook page for the metro and the shop in question (and possibly all of the metro shops) and also the FB pages for the local newspapers and radio stations. Write a message (write in word and then copy and paste) warning people to guard their shopping bags with great care - and also tell the story of what happened.
If it stops one other person loosing their stuff , if it makes the assistants in shops more vigilant and watchful, if it means the security guards act more promptly - they can act without the police being there as a citizens arrest

its worth the effortsavingmoniez wrote: »Every year we give the children money to go off and get new clothes for there Christmas box.
So youngest went off to Metro Centre with eldest yesterday armed with Christmas money for shopping. Whilst in a certain Foot A store the eldest went to try something on leaving the youngest and his girlfriend. Youngest spots a coat and step sideways in line of sight of eldest's gf (to show her coat) and in a fail swoop his bag is taken from the floor.
Security is called but say they can't go after the culprits without the police there. The police didn't turn up because they were too busy but have rang today and said they are viewing to see how they left the Metro. A woman, man and two children the police have said they were like predators, they awaited apparently was perfectly synchronised.
I was a little surprised at the slow action of all involved how they were left hanging for over an hour in the store only to be told go home there's nothing they can do when the shop was closing. The bag contained goods just bought from that store and RI yet no good will gesture was made to someone who was clearly in shock of this happening. I may drop a line to Head Office after the police are done. It has come to light that the culprits remained in the store for a good while after so perhaps if speed was made things would have been different.
As you imagine DS is devastated and embarrassed, but like I said to him (after shouting about putting the bag down) it could have been worse no-one was hurt just pride
It's ironic because we probably have less than the people that took the bag in the first place this is there treat once a year and that one bag wiped out his entire Christmas presents.
It occurred to me as well with stores not providing bags we are putting more shopping into one bag and therefore just the carriers we carry, hold more value to thieves. Moral of the story is hold tight onto them bags as it gets closer to Christmas but seriously take care while shopping it's easy to get lost in a list.

its terrible when you cant let your teens out on their own for a days shopping without them being regarded as targets.
it seems now like if 2 of you need to go shopping you need to take a 3rd non shopping person with you to keep watch over you and your bags and belongings.
Years ago we were in London for an overnighter one October (it was only the year after my mum had died so it was a bad time altogether) and we went into McDonalds on oxford street - I think we were on an upper floor. There was an almighty scream from downstairs - someone had put their bag on the table and had their bag snatched from right in front of them :mad:savingmoniez wrote: »Every year we give the children money to go off and get new clothes for there Christmas box.

I'm just a penny short of a pound. Peace and Love.

apg for £52 - really should have been more careful as I like to keep them below £50 to stay under the radar. Hit my limit for the month in 2 shops  So much for dipping my toe back into glitching. Does anyone know when the month resets? Is it 28 days from first evoucher or per calendar month? I used to know but can't recall. TIA0 -
