Poor lad.
If they are well known, it does raise the question of why the shopping centre has allowed them onto their premises.100 -

So youngest went off to Metro Centre with eldest yesterday armed with Christmas money for shopping. Whilst in a certain Foot A store the eldest went to try something on leaving the youngest and his girlfriend. Youngest spots a coat and step sideways in line of sight of eldest's gf (to show her coat) and in a fail swoop his bag is taken from the floor.
Security is called but say they can't go after the culprits without the police there. The police didn't turn up because they were too busy but have rang today and said they are viewing to see how they left the Metro. A woman, man and two children the police have said they were like predators, they awaited apparently was perfectly synchronised.
I was a little surprised at the slow action of all involved how they were left hanging for over an hour in the store only to be told go home there's nothing they can do when the shop was closing. The bag contained goods just bought from that store and RI yet no good will gesture was made to someone who was clearly in shock of this happening. I may drop a line to Head Office after the police are done. It has come to light that the culprits remained in the store for a good while after so perhaps if speed was made things would have been different.
As you imagine DS is devastated and embarrassed, but like I said to him (after shouting about putting the bag down) it could have been worse no-one was hurt just pride
It's ironic because we probably have less than the people that took the bag in the first place this is there treat once a year and that one bag wiped out his entire Christmas presents.
It occurred to me as well with stores not providing bags we are putting more shopping into one bag and therefore just the carriers we carry, hold more value to thieves. Moral of the story is hold tight onto them bags as it gets closer to Christmas but seriously take care while shopping it's easy to get lost in a list.
Rant over!
Not wishing to make light of the theft ..... But I read your post yesterday worrying about them being at the Metro ... You were worried and wanted them home safe .... Thankfully they got home safe and sound .... Hope there is a big glitch for you this week to be able to claw some back for him .... I am off out now ...funny how times change my son had a disaster at the metro on his 21 st birthday I will post about it later ...0 -
