Is there anywhere I can make a plea for help

As well as Salvation Army there are Emmaus groups around the county who might be able to help - not sure how local the nearest one would be to you though. It’s not worth doing something unless someone, somewhere, would much rather you weren’t doing it.

lol.., My conservative MP, Mr Adam Holloway has said the country can't afford to keep my family. Seriously. He ignored everything I said and write to an assistant director of housing - seems to have just asked what is happening with my housing situation, received back a one sided reply of my first interview with housing.., sent me a copy but made no comments. Everythings ok with him.
I've just written an email to him.., updated him on the diagnoses etc, and said maybe if the country could afford to provide for example basic housing help and diagnostic services for my son, both of us might be in work and not going to cost the country thousands in emergency housing.
Doubt I will get a reply.
I don't know anything about the Salvation Army. Don't think I can muster up the guts to ask for help face to face in the way i would need to. Not good at that. I kindof feel rather useless anyway, doing my best to keep going. I'm ok online like this, but face to face, I'm useless. Its why I've given up talking to people.
I will have to find a way to manage somehow I guess.0 -
I just wanted to say that I understand what you mean about having no-one to turn to. I have no one that I could call in difficulty.
You sound as if you are doing really well - you will get through it and with luck in time the council will give you social housing that you can live in for a very long time without any worry.0 -
You might find this storage facility useful for you.

You could put your non essential stuff in storage now, leaving just mattresses etc until the last moment.
Good luck0 -

Some churches have websites - for example Gravesend Methodist is one, link here. You might be able to find someone to email or phone if you'd manage that better. Even if they can't help, they might know someone who can. I'd certainly lend a hand if I was nearer (Glasgow is a little too far to be helpful to you I fear!), so I imagine there will be folks near you who would as well0 -
Thank you, that is so kind.
I've just received the possession order.., relevant date is 25th November but should receive bailiffs letter by Wednesday apparently. they're saying I have to pay costs by then too, yikes!
I will sort something, if I don't it won't be for a lack of trying lol.., I remember the bailiffs and sheriffs programmes all to well, that is NOT going to be me lol.
No sleep at all lolol.
LL is already making enquiries about the £400 fees.
Storage might have an answer, found storemates.co.uk.., several places in Gravesend - where you put stuff in spare space in people's homes. Lot cheaper than commercial storage units. Now just need to sort getting it there.
Probably ought to look at insurance too, god knows how one finds that (for items in storage). But I will.0 -
There's a volunteer centre that covers the area who might be able to help.
http://www.nwkentvolunteers.org.uk/?page_id=12
They have volunteer drivers to take vulnerable people to appointments etc but they might be able to put you in contact with someone who could drive a van for you.0 -
Deannatrois, I have nothing really helpful to post but just wanted to send you a supportive message, what a horrible situation.I was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back0

Google Gravesend Salvation Army - there's an email address on their page. Even if you just copy the opening post on this thread to them - make contact!0 -

According to this link the landlord cannot apply for a bailiffs warrant until after the date for possession expires.
http://england.shelter.org.uk/get_advice/eviction/court_action_for_eviction/court_orders
If so then this gives you some time to get things sorted.
Now you have the possession notice you must take this to the council. They should not delay finding you temporary accommodation and they must not ask you to wait for the bailiffs. This is called 'gatekeeping' if they do so.
You need to telephone Shelter and check this all out.
Plus, as already said you need to speak to the council about storage costs and help with moving.
If you have a good CAB they may be able to help you if the council don't play ball.0
