ye i'm just hoping that i don't get a divorce from my career with teletech!!!lol, REALLY want this job, it's such a long process to get hired from them isn't it?
seems like she said exactly what your recruiter said to you, that i should think about it over the weekend and that its a very "techy" job,she said she will call on mon, so hope it goes well, wonder when there actually going to tell us when he have been hired, so far it all sort of indirect!!
It is! Prehaps the American's do it a different way? Who is your recruiter?0 -
Hiya everyone. I have been following this thread with interest. I went to the online meeting on Wednesday, I then had my interview on Thursday with Lisa, but within 5 minutes of the interview ending, she emailed me straight away for references, even though she said it would be 3 business days before I would find out if I got the job. I noticed that some of you haven't been asked for references yet, is that what they normally do, ask for references before you get told if you have got the job or not?
Yes does seem each recruiter does it a different way. I just hope the rest catch us up soon ang get offered the job like us subjectto thinking!0 -

A question for those of you already working ... should you have a quite period/time what do you do? You can't use the internet or msn can you? So what do you do? Read a book or shove the tv on?0

I would like to know from people already working for them what support they get from their at home manager and also the incentives they mention on the hirepoint website ?
Support wise there is a chat system similar to a chat room that is used on shift, in these chat rooms you will have your team leader and/ or super users that are there to answer questions, give support, cheer you up with our witty banter etc as well as there being other members of the team that you can have a chat with when not busy.
Support is as much or as little as you need it to be, if you are happy to handle calls alone and can do so without issues or evaluation problems then so be it, if you need help, advice or just a chat then it's there for you.
You are never truly alone on a call as the chat window is always there if needed and to be honest we just wish a few of our agents would use the support options a bit more often some nights lol0 -

There are regular chat sessions with your team leader, we currently are looking at a monthly voice conference with our entire team to discuss anything that has happened in the week when possible. You get regular emails from your team leader and even get to chat with them to go through appraisals of your call handling etc.

I'd be careful about comparing UK wages with US wages-there is NO relation. UK wages are higher than comparable US jobs across the board as our cost of living is higher in just about everything. £6ph is not a great rate by any means but for working from home with no expenses like travel, work clothes etc plus achievable performance related bonuses on top it's not bad at all.
Yes they ARE strict about background noise and you really need to be able to shut yourself away from "domestic sound effects".
Ah, i see about comparing the wages. thought i was getting really lucky there for a minute!! absolutely right about the wage being good considering not many expenses.
i shouldn't have a problem as far as domestic noise, but children can be unpredictable at times. we will have a family meeting soon so that everyone in the house understands the importance of 'quiet'.
any tips from others? what are some of the arrangements with your family while you are working? maybe we could get some ideas from each other.0 -

Depending on the ages of the children you can set activities for them.
I know a few friends who have children and work at home (that's meant to be the other way round but you get the gist!)
Should they be small enough that they are in the same room as you then you can have special (quiet!) toys that they can only play with while you are at work. Or to draw a picture for you/colouring. Or play dough.
My friend has a little sign or picture that when she is on the phone she holds up to let her child know that they must be quiet during this time and mummy is not to be interupted. Should the inevitable happen like someone crying then make sure you have a mute button ready!!!
Hmmm what other tips. Set them house cleaning tasks? If they are old enough then they can go round dusting? Or tidy their room?
I'll go think some more.0
