A real work at home job

-
I know this thread is long now, but it has been mentioned alot about the solictor, it depends how much you want this job whether you are prepared to pay for it or not. I paid £10 for mine, other did pay less.
I got the money back for the CRB with no problems
As far as I am aware the probation period is 12 weeks, I will get my handbook out later and check, this is no different from any other company I have worked for. A few people on this board are now out of their probationary period
Google any company and I bet you will see plenty of complaints from employee's, every where I has worked not every one is happy in their job, but some don't look for another job and moan all the time.
I can't see any problems with the way we are been treated, no problems been paid:D thats is what I am working for0 -
Hillbillly 333 - disclosing the company name is against their policy so if i was you i would edit your post and blank out the company as many people have been fired because they disclose who they taking calls for. You dont want to be out of the job before you even start.
I dont work for teletech but have been reading most of the posts and from what i can gather they seem a good company. Have not read on this thread anyone critisizing teletech. I work full time anyway so dont need another job at the moment but i may consider it in the future.
As getting £6 an hour for staying at home i think is brilliant.
In any job if you are allowed a certain amount of breaks and most employers will sack you for taking extra breaks.
In regards getting yourself certified by solicitor i reckon its understandable as you have never met them face to face. When anyone applies they can easily gives some else's details and apply. So the safest way is to get certified by a solicitor.0 -

you can do it if you want, I am not bothered as I haven't said anything defamatory, and believe it or not that's not my real name!! And I don't think I want the job anyway. So why can't you mention who you work for, big security issue there I suppose:p, go check out the forums, they tell another story about this successful company from the point of view of people who have been working for them for some time. It's not my words you'll be reading.0 -

So you wouldn't mind losing a day's pay if you spend more than 3 minutes in the toilet, or if you need another pee in your 4-6 hour shift??When anyone applies they can easily gives some else's details and apply.0 -

My mistake, you are correct0 -
discussing Teletech clients is a breach of contract,
so I couldn't possible comment.
Oliver is the one who opened the thread. He is the who has helped everyone on this thread with their questions and he also works for them. So it is in your contract not to disclose the client.David_Bowley wrote: »I'm quite enjoying the training so far, but I confess I'm a massive geek and go around fixing my friend's broadband all the time.
A bit anxious about speaking on this thread though still, what does everyone else make of it? The other day our trainer told us that someone had been discussing TeleTech on a forum and got sacked!!!!
so someone has got sacked previously as i said earlier
Im not having a go at you hillbilly. So apologise if you think i am. Im just stating facts and hopefully my posts will help other people reading this thread as dont want people getting sacked for one little mistake. If they want to track the person who wrote any post (not just yours). They can track by anyones IP Address even if you use a false name.0 -

"Origianlly posted by Hillbilly333"
I received my final pack of contract/handbook etc.
I am surprised to find I have to pay £20 for a disclosure from Scottish Disclosure, which they say they will reimburse in my wages.
You get the money back, it's just to prove you have no criminal
record.
I am much more surprised to find I have to hire a solicitor to validate a photocopy of my birth certificate, at what expense I wonder, probably more than £20. Nothing mentioned about reimbursement for that.
It's to prove your identify, and prevents the need to send off your
ID in the mail, my solicitor did it for free others payed £5-10 so call around if you get a high quote to have it done, also any employer has to check that you are eligible to work in this country - not TT's fault - blame the government!
Reading through their contract I was also interested to see, nestled in the section about absence from work, a clause saying I may be requested to attend an appointed doctor to give blood, urine and any other samples for analysis, and permit the results to be given to the company.
This is pretty standard in most company's now, my last employer of 5 years had the same line in the contract, nothing to worry about it's just
to tackle drug abuse issues, a non drug user has nothing to worry
about.
Furthermore, it seems that the probationary period is twelve months, so they could dismiss you at any time in that period without having to honour 90% of the dismissal procedures.
Probationary period is 12 weeks like any other employer
To be honest, I am having doubts about this
To be honest I am having doubts about you too, you deiced to register on the forum and then your first post was to basically spam the thread with negative and inaccurate information, which if you had read over the thread or posted a question, you would of got real facts from mse members who are are currently working quite happily at Teletech and enjoy the benefits and flexibility of home-working.
It's like signing the official secrets act, for £6 per hour. Disclosures, solicitors, medical tests. All this for answering the phone to customers. I mean they already have my name address, telephone number, email [all of which they have used to contact me], as well as my NI number, and soon, my banking details and a disclosure, not to mention 4 references. So why do I have to pay a solicitor to validate me as well? Most companies ask you to permit them to do the other searches and checks at their expense.
Ok this is a job you ether want or you don't nobody is forcing it on you, a large amount of people from here are perfectly happy with the job, me included.
It easily passed the online tests, but when the workbooth disk arrived my PC was too advanced for it as I have PCI-e graphics and it only likes old AGP, I had to dig out an old computer.
I have a PCI-E Graphics card and have no issues with workbooth, you could of probably got around your problem with a Linux boot command that have already been posted here http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?p=7674917&highlight=i.+linux+noagp#post7674917
and as I said it didn't like my network.
I felt a bit depressed because I had let another job go when they told me I had the job. There was no mention then or previously about having to pay any money out before I had actually got this job. No mention of screening. Anyway I am still mulling it over, but alarm bells did start to ring, and in the mean time I am applying for other jobs.
You have had a offer of the job providing you meet the conditions, so
it's in your hands now to do your part to complete the application.
Personally I think if you let a job go because your not willing to pay
the small (if any) charge of proving your identity then I think your Barking :rotfl:0 -
Veering off slightly-When I went to the local solicitors to do the identity stuff the dozy solicitor looked at my passport and then commented "Well how do I know it's you ?" I looked at her in amazement -bit back the really obvious commen ts and simply told her that my passport had been accepted by both the UK and US governments when leaving the UK and entering the US as proof I was me so that should be good enough. Quite worryin g when a solicitor doesn 't know what a passport is for !!!
Nice talking to you the other day OliverI Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole
MSE Florida wedding .....no problem0 -
i applied on the 1th, spoke to live help last week, was told would hear in few days, went back to live help today and they said my application not complete?
have logged in and application is showing as completed - have just gone through it all again
am at a bit of a loss now as to what i should do?0
