Hello friends
I received this mail today from teletech for the position I applied .
Thank you for your interest in the position of Customer Service Representative.
We were very fortunate to have a number of qualified applicants for this opening, which made the selection process difficult. Although we were impressed with your credentials, we will be pursuing other applicants at this time. Please be assured this decision in no way reflects negatively on your credentials.
Your interest in TeleTech@Home is greatly appreciated. Please accept our best wishes in your career endeavors.
Sincerely,
does it mean I'm not selected for this position?
If yes, can I keep applying for other positions as they arise?
I received the workbooth cd and passed the technical assessment but don't know why they didn't take me. Do I need to follow the entire process again for new positions.
Thanks0 -

Having problems now with the assessment. I did the grammer test and went on to the customer service part, however had a problem. My screen res was too low, and I couldn't ,move the screen, tried to change my res but couldn't leave the prog. This lead to be having to restart my PC.
Now when I log back in, it says do you wish to carry on? I click yes, says loading battery however this does not work and always get a "this page cannot be displayed" message.
Any help would be brilliant.0 -
Just wanted to say good luck to all of us that finished training tonight, good luck next week and yay! We did it.
Also want to say thank to everyone who has contributed to this thread. Every single question I could have ever thought to have asked has been answered.
And a super HUUUUUGE thank you to Oliver, if it weren't for you I wouldn't be here and extremely happy now.:T0 -
hi i have a home meeting invite.
now is this over the phone or via email / live chat>
so they need me to go online at any point??
here is the gist of the email
, "I will send you a Web-Link to attend MeetingPlace in a separate e-mail ONE HOUR before your scheduled date and time so we can discuss this opportunity further in a group. "
i ask as i can meet one hour, but need to know if it will be 2 hours in theory
also if im needed near my pc, thats all
please advise.0 -
Online meeting but with phone based audio too. They are basically saying they will send the link to you one hour before the meeting starts so that you have time to receive it and log in.0

I have completed and passed all the assesments/interviews but had to turn down the position due to the hours however the lady that interviewed me said that they would keep my application active as they are recruiting for a new client very soon.
Does anybody know exactly when they are going to be recruiting for the new clients?0 -
I received my final pack of contract/handbook etc.
It seems the customer is <not allowed to mention>
I am surprised to find I have to pay £20 for a disclosure from Scottish Disclosure, which they say they will reimburse in my wages.
I am much more surprised to find I have to hire a solicitor to validate a photocopy of my birth certificate, at what expense I wonder, probably more than £20. Nothing mentioned about reimbursement for that.
Reading through their contract I was also interested to see, nestled in the section about absence from work, a clause saying I may be requested to attend an appointed doctor to give blood, urine and any other samples for analysis, and permit the results to be given to the company. There was no mention of absence in that clause at all, unlike in all the other clauses in that section. Is this some form of screening? Is it going to happen to everyone?
Furthermore, it seems that the probationary period is twelve months, so they could dismiss you at any time in that period without having to honour 90% of the dismissal procedures.
To be honest, I am having doubts about this.
It's like signing the official secrets act, for £6 per hour. Disclosures, solicitors, medical tests. All this for answering the phone to ISP customers. I mean they already have my name address, telephone number, email [all of which they have used to contact me], as well as my NI number, and soon, my banking details and a disclosure, not to mention 4 references. So why do I have to pay a solicitor to validate me as well? Most companies ask you to permit them to do the other searches and checks at their expense.
I have already had to buy a new router to use with their system so I didn't have to type in network addresses every time I logged in. And as for testing my computer....
It easily passed the online tests, but when the workbooth disk arrived my PC was too advanced for it as I have PCI-e graphics and it only likes old AGP, I had to dig out an old computer, and as I said it didn't like my network.
I felt a bit depressed because I had let another job go when they told me I had the job. There was no mention then or previously about having to pay any money out before I had actually got this job. No mention of screening. Anyway I am still mulling it over, but alarm bells did start to ring, and in the mean time I am applying for other jobs.0 -
By the way I have just Googled TeleTech and found loads of threads complaining about the work, the ethics and even penalty pay docks for using the toilet in work time, and some mentioning law suits and unpaid holiday pay on termination of employment. I also read one, coincidently, about a guy getting fired on the last day of his probationary period.
I would suggest you do the same so you can draw your own conclusions before accepting a job offer from this company.0
