I think this is the Charlotte Street Hotel (emphasis on the 'think'!). The restaurants listed when you click through a couple of pages are certainly neighbouring the hotel!
Sorry - to add, it turns out there's another hotel backing onto CSH, called The Rathbone Hotel, so it could be that one also!
Did anyone ever work out which hotel this was, it's listed for a sensible price at the moment, but I'd like to know for sure.Working through my debts one company at a time0 -

Just to update that this is still the Cumberland Hotel - just booked it tonight. :j Been monitoring prices and it seems if you're booking a weekend, it shows as £128 a night a few weeks before and then the Monday of the week you're staying it reduces to £99 a night and that seems to be as low as it goes even looking on the Thurs for a Fri & Sat stay.
This is for a double deluxe room without breakfast, but as the website is showing it at £349 for 2 nights vs £198 I've just paid, it's a pretty good saving!0 -

Hi Pelican,
I have been meaning to ask you about this post. I have never booked a Shaftesbury hotel but have been tempted often since their price range is normally 100£-120£ with breakfast and in one of my favourite areas. I have however never felt particularly confortable with their reviews on tripadvisor. Can you elaborate on your opinion? Since these hotels do appear often in the secret LM list, I think everyone would profit from hearing your thoughts. TIA.0 -
