Here is some unsophisticated and elementary information about LED Lifespan - you know, a few bits of electronics soldered to a board and a bit of coloured plastic

    Knock yourself out.

You're wasting your time with this muppet called "bsod" (apt name- it has "sod" in it). :D

He doesn't have the brains to either read or understand that - as evidence by him thinking some cheap tat bulbs from where-ever are the dogs-!!!!!!!!! Do as I have and ignore him - I feel he's pompous, self opinionated, self-righteous and argumentative in many of his posts. (in my opinion, you understand) :rotfl: Don't feed the troll.....

This info really backs up your immature insults and accusations doesn't it?

Hmmm...You invite us to speculate, and then get upset when some well-deserved but ridiculous innuendo is offered in jest. It goes, "Whoosh!" straight over your head, just like some of your first post went over mine.

I'm still looking for the insults.

What you've said is quite probably correct, but the delivery could be more profitably matched to the audience. I've read through the info here, including your link, and I get the gist of it, but it's not something I need to know in detail.

As for the OP, like Elvis, I expect he left the building long ago.
    I'm joining him.

    Hello

I dont like energy saving bulbs (not bright enough & take ages to illuminate). Therefore i still use the old 100W type bulbs & have quite a stockpile of them.

However, i need to replace some of the light shades & all the places i have tried only do 60W max. Does anybody know where i can still get shades for 100W bulbs.

    Thanks

I think you'll have great difficulty. Given that 100W incandescent bulbs themselves are now fairly thin on the ground (but despite "Europe" incandescent bulbs are still available as "rough service" bulbs) then there's not a huge market (or need) for shades to accompany them. Most materials/fabrics will need special treatment to cope with the heat and long terms effects of being in close proximity to a 100W incandescent bulb - if you were making them would you bother, for a limited market? Are you sure that the fittings you are using them in are rated for 100W incandescent bulbs?

anyone is allowed to 'barge in' as you put it, as it happens, I 'barged in' before either of you.

With bad advice, and non-information, that needed to be corrected.
it's a lightbulb, a few bits of electronics soldered to a board and a bit of coloured plastic,

You missed out the heatsink, probably the same as the manufacturers. There will be a short lifespan, or (drama!) a burnt down house.
don't have to prove anything, if you are both experts in the market, you should know what's available at what price and when, and if not google it.

You do if you're going to argue so much! You've said something DOES exist, we say it DOESN'T. If you can't show us the product, accept you were wrong. Still waiting for the Asda £5 100w equivalent LED.
elstimpo, your knowledge is valued, although in this case I'm not convinced you were answering the OP's question.

Nope, he and I are just trying to correct bsod's incorrect answers to OP's posts.
Oh, hang on, perhaps it's that link to your business in your profile? Couldn't be that, though, could it?

I could so easily have linked to elstimpo's store, but haven't, and won't in this thread. He's not going to make any money in this thread.
Philips do 13.5W LED bulb equivalent to 100W, if OP go down that route.

BINGO! (The second link) 1521Lm, £13.19. No idea what the CRI is but baby steps, elstimpo!
I'm still looking for the insults.

    Read bsod's posts.
I've had enough of this nonsense.

    Don't worry, I'll keep correcting...
