Good Morning everyone, we had a lovely day with that Zebra yesterday and I've now got his very first colouring in picture pinned up on my fridge! bless him! The journey home was not nice as there was an awful lot of traffic and it rained nearly all the way but we had no hold ups and it was lovely to get home again.
HESTER I'm so pleased that your DH is feeling a bit more level and is coping, hope that makes life easier for you too love, glad also that the rest of the family are helping FIL at the time he needs their support most, that also must be helping you both.
TA glad that MRTA has come through this first treatment as well as he has and also that he's managing to eat a bit more because that is helping both of you!
We're planning to sort out the store room today so if I don't post again this year you'll know there has been an avalaunch and we're stuck in there somewhere, all the tins/preserves/ dry stores are in there too so we won't starve, just might take some time to burrow out!!! I'm hoping to clear one of the shelf units completely and pop some camping equipment we haven't used in years up into the loft and clear enough wall space by taking the shelves out to put in a single bed/futon as a spare spare bed.
The weather here is showery and poor old He Who Knows got soaked this morning walking Cookie so we'll stay inside most of the day and I'll only take her on a local loop this afternoon, makes sense! Have yourselves a really nice day everyone, Lyn xxx.0 -

Your DH's humour seems much like my husband's. We had just been told at the hospital that the skin cancer which had been successfully treated a year before had jumped and grown and that it was terminal. We went straight from the hospital to our local church for a friend's funeral. I was crying quite a bit and found out later that DH (who knew perfectly well why ) had said to several people "She's crying quite a lot, do you think she and **** were more than friends.?" I wondered why I was getting some funny looks
Sunny day but very high wind and going to take a DD shopping in York this afternoon for a few bits and bobs as an early Christmas present.
I liked the chalet bungalow I looked at but the downstairs needs some redecorating, the kitchen made bigger and renewed and the bath replaced with a walk in shower. I don't want to make a decision till at least one of my DDs have seen the place.
Going to make an omelette for a brunch before tidying kitchen and going for the bus. I lost a stone over the last couple of months at a slimming club and want to keep going.

I hope you were not hurt or shocked by the fall. Wave Hello

So glad the treatment seems to have gone well for DH.

I am glad some of the relatives seem to be pulling together for FIL and hope things stay civil for the next few weeks.

Afternoon all,
Wind has died a bit, but temperature was only 4c at 11, risen to 8 30 mins ago, heat is on and OH has lit fire.
Met DSIL, DD4 and twins for brunch in local garden centre.....they slept for about 30mins and then loudly displayed their dissatisfaction, so she took them home to feed them.....awkward when out to feed them both.....think that she will have to get used to expressing and bringing a bottle when out!
Hester...glad that things seem to be calming down, hugs to you both.
judi....jealous of your prescription cost......we pay the first €144 every month of prescription costs.
LW.....hope that your poor paws are better.
Elona....hope that bungalow is suitable and suitably priced to allow you to do the alterations you need.
Harry Monkee...welcome and thanks for the laugh.....sorry.
Csarina.....sorry that your sleep is being disrupted.
Dinner tonight will be a very fast carbonara as I dont feel like cooking.
OH forgot to buy a paper when we were out so he has gone to get one now....cant live without his paper.....never mind the €17 they cost him every week!
When we left the others after brunch the car wouldnt start, steering was locked and I just couldnt sort it, got on to emergency who advised me to lean hard on left side of steering wheel, while trying to turn the key.......bingo. Apparently this is likely to happen with power steerin....so theres a tip for you all!
Enjoy the rest of your day.

Afternoon all,
HarryMonkee - Hello and that made me laugh! Hope you didn't hurt yourself.
Just popped into Dobbies on the way back from work to pick up a Chicken for dinner tomorrow. DS1 and his partner are coming to see us. I haven't seen them since DD's Wedding back in May.
Got back to find a message from my GP practice asking me to phone re a blood test I had done. I had it done because my practice supposedly does annual healthchecks for the over 45's. I had one last year. Receptionist told me to have the blood test then book the healthcheck appointment - turns out they haven't organised them yet but the GP wants to speak to me about the results. She is going to phone me after surgery. I am now worried!
Right need to motivate myself to do some bits and bobs. Have a great Weekend all0 -

Woke up at stupid o'clock and as I got out of bed and went to get in my wheelchair the brake was off and it went sliding back with me ending up face down on the floor, which is not anything new. It all seemed to happen in slow motion so I wasn't hurt, well except my pride. My wife lifted her sleepy head up off the pillow and asked are you awake honey? which turned my expletives into laughter. She got me sorted then went back to sleep as she works and is a wonderful mum to our 4 children.
So my day will be spent dividing my time between the sofa and my bed until pandemonium ensues this evening.
Any telly recommendations welcomed unless they contain a persons name. :rotfl:
I do, as a fellow "chariot user" sympathise. I hobble round on sticks in the bungalow, thankfully, but there was one time, on the Isle of Skye (so it'd have been in 2007) Mr LW was steering my chariot, when he heard the car alarm go off, So he suddenly leaves go the chair, and goes roaring off towards the car.... leaving me leaning backwards on a slope without brakes on. Had it not been for the quick actions of a total stranger, I'd have been flat on my back with very bruised pride!:rotfl:
My theory is the way to tell if you're badly hurt is are you swearing or crying? If the former, you're basically ok.;)£8.20 for a prescription! Rip off!:(If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
Its very nice to meet a humorous, open and friendly bunch of people. I'm struggling with a few of the abbreviations if anyone can be so kind as to point me in the right direction with help there. I type very slow and at times the forum is very busy so advance apologies if I miss any comments.
LW I have been in your situation many times over the years especially when one of the kids has me. For some reason the safety of our baby comes before me...
